Thi is nonsense.. This is NOT beta anymore..

I've been around MMO's for a long, long, long time (read: UO/EQ) and yes, most have had rocky launches. It's not easy to predict everything that can or will go wrong. THAT being said:


I am highly, highly disappointed by how this "early access" has started. Just because other games have had issues on launch, and just because it isn't uncommon, does not make it any more "right" or acceptable for broken releases. Many of these issues have been present since the beta, and that's the big problem, as the first post noted. This isn't the beta anymore, we are now paying customers who all shelled out money for an expected product to be delivered on the date provided, and many of us paid extra to get "early" access, which has basically amounted to a buggy, broken, or in many people's case, unplayable product. The excuse of, "Well, every MMO goes through early release problems" or "They didn't expect this kind of load" or patience etc, are all TRUE, but it they are all excuses nonetheless. What makes it more of a shame than anything is that WHEN playable, it's been an extremely enjoyable experience, and one I was really looking forward to sinking my teeth into, and while it still is very early, the mass problems (and I've ran into most of them myself) have somewhat muted the experience.

After the problems with the FIRST game, and with the tagline of "Reborn", you'd at least think the product would be extremely polished or at the very least they would have enough capacity to handle the opening. I won't be that person that sits and screams "Omg there are problems on launch I want a refund fix it all now" because that's neither realistic nor productive, but I'm also not going to give a company that should know better a free pass on extremely poor initial execution. And this isn't a F2P game where, you basically don't have any initial investment and therefore have less room to complain about the product that is delivered, we've already paid, and will continue to do so on a monthly basis. I expect better.

Something tells me that I am glad that I had to work this weekend and have been unable to play except a few hours on Saturday morning when the EA first launched. Maybe I have gotten lucky or something but I have not experienced the first issue when playing this game.

The problems are game breaking if not dealt with asap. "oh wait, error code 90000 has been addressed".

So I'm not going to say this is the greatest launch for an MMO EA release, because it isn't. But it certainly isn't the worst.

Yes i realize this isn't a f2p, we all payed EARLY (a lot of us only paying 5$ early, big whoop, wanna fight about it) and NOT MORE for the pre-order bonuses. EA launch was just a bonus of laying down your purchase early. That along with your other pre-order bonus items.

p2p or not, MMO's need these EA times to stress test the servers and make sure they can hold their own audience (in this case the audience size is unexpected. Atleast i didn't see it coming). Wait until the actual game launch. then you can complain to your heart's content.

But a lot of you are being unreasonable regarding bugs... I can name plenty of games released within the past few years that were major sellers and are still played constantly today that started with MANY MANY MANY bugs. Skyrim, Dark Souls, WoW, Diablo 3, etc..

Do I expect a perfect launch? No. Do I expect "game-breaking bugs"? No. But I'm going to deal with it for now. Until EA ends. Then I'll start giving SE crap for it.

Are you serious?? Come on do you really believe the crap you just posted?

The pre-order bonus for this game includes early access to the release version of the game, not a stress test of the servers. THAT'S WHAT BETA WAS FOR. The fact that there are currently game breaking errors at present preventing a great deal of people from even playing the game during a period of time that we have PAID for is ridiculous. Yes I get that MMO launch's are rarely problem free but come on it's 2013, surely we're past the point of referencing WoW's launch and in fact surely game companies have learned from previous mistakes and have proper strategies in place. Error's preventing people from playing at EA that were part of Beta is unacceptable.

I also have no idea what you mean by some people only paying $5 early. The game was $30 on the SE site and that seemed to be the cheapest.

I can officially say i payed enough to complain about not getting early access. The exact price i payed was $116 AU (originally $138) to pre-order which included early access (which was originally supposed a week) plus the extras. Did i not pay for ea for a few people or what? Your damn right i have a right to expect my already small EA uninterrupted and you can kiss my ass if you don't agree. lol

This whole "early access" has been a failure... the worst part is that it shows they are not prepared for the amount of people playing....

I had my share of mmo's and this "early access" might easily turn out to be "consistent failure"....

They have to do something. Locking people from not playing so the servers atm play with 1000 people is not support and saying "Sorry for any inconvinience" is not working....

only thing that bugs me every much besides these annoying errors would be how u can pure order the game for 50 on psn and which I pure ordered soon as u were allowed to and paid a lot more which id expect and will bug se for will be Sence we the people that are in my boat paid more then they have it now we should get at least 2 or 3 months of free time on top of the 30days we get free anyways.. I was all about the ea and the mount everything else will collect dust tbh so I expect something for over paying

I'm seriously bummed out that I can't play... I did pay for early access... and I'm sad to see I can't play. If it happened during a beta I'd understand but right now we're paying for it :c

I hope they come with some compensation, that'd be awesome

I understand the delay, and I appreciate the work they're putting in it to fix it, but still.... I miss my character ;-;

Yes I did only point out one, that is why it is an example and not a complete list. Examples are commonly to demonstrate not detail everything.

What I do not get is people complaining now so late in the game with program development that in large part Production in lue of testing (Pilot) has become so common practice that when I have to work with 3rd parties for my software development I have to fight them for a true development environment.

If you want attack someone why not go after the bigger fish that made this kind of practice a normal trend. Square is simply following a practice that has been going on and as game console advance to were they continue designing beyond the finished product PILOT will continue to happen.

It's a norm in software you really going to have to get use to or find a way turn the practice around as a whole among just about every company.
