I have an FFXIV 1.0 question, cuz I never did Fish. Was it possible to fish up random stuff like in FFXI, like logs and useless junk? If not, what would've been the worst thing you could fish up?

Fishing in FFXIV 1.0 wasn't really random. At least it didn't feel that way. You always had certain depth and cast angles that would give you an item from a select few types of fish. From my experience, the ranges in which you can catch certain types of fish would overlap. Due to this I had the chance to catch 1 of 4 different types of fish. But i would be able to catch the fish I needed about 70% of the time.

But, I believe that my worst catch was 1 gil.

When fishing you could also fish up pieces of coral, and spear fishing could net you dyes and buckets of muddy water and small animals (snakes, spiders, that sort of thing). I don't think I ever got any random items that were completely unrelated.

Best stuff I ever got while spear fishing: boxed turtles and buckets of muddy water.
The thought of throwing a spear and skewering up buckets (without breaking 'em) made me lol several times.

Well, to be honest... I don't really need his autograph or anything. I would be satisfied with just a handshake or a small conversation with Yoshi-p. I basically want to thank him for making Final Fantasy XIV the game it is now and it will become. I've thoroughly enjoyed myself with each passing patch/update and now with the ARR Beta.

But, to answer your question, i would bring a Chocobo White Mage plushy (or the one reading a book). (^_^ )

Last year I won a DIN A4 card with a male Miqo'te and two Chocobos on it. I'd bring this one ^^
I framed it already and it has a special place in my room. Yoshi's autograph on it would be the final touch!

And since I do not have a CD box of the game (yet), only the CE with the goodies, I'd bring the box too xD'

Why am I getting the feeling I will regret not going to gamescom this year (again) :P
Oh well... maybe next year...

And I agree with Aldora, I'd prefer to just have a short chat with him and don't really need an autograph :3

IF you had the chance to talk with Yoshi-p, what would you talk about? What would you ask him?

Hmmm... I think i would talk to him about how he sees the community. What he thinks about the feedback, the questions the complaints and especially the cheers he received since he took over. Has the feedback from the users made significant changes to the design of the game he had in mind when he was promoted as producer of Final Fantasy XIV? Where there any idea's, gameplay systems, story related content changed (both in 1.xx, 2.0 and beyond) because players felt it had to go in a certain direction or based on what the players (dis)liked?

I think my conversation would go in that direction...

Q1: I'd most likely ask him to sign my FFXIV 1.0 Journal. Might get everyone who took part in FFXIV to sign it too if possible.

Q2: Most likely, I'd ask him if he wanted to play a co-op game with me. We would just sit side by sit or back to back and play
Rainbow Six or Dead Space. hehe. If there was a time limit say, 15 minutes. Then I would just ask him various questions like how he "really" feels about the future of FFXIV and what innovations he has in store.

I'd get the autograph on my 1.0 CE.

The question I'd ask would be if he intends on leaving crafters and gatherers without quests (outside of the once every 5 level guild quests that every class gets) and FATE's aimed at them, considering he totes the quest grind and FATE's as the major progression system of the game. Thoroughly unimpressed with that concept but do want an answer to it once and for all >_> And yes, I respect him and appreciate all the effort he has (and will continue to) put into the game, it's just that one issue I have major quibble with. I wouldn't try to convince him differently either, just want to know if I have to give up hope for that one aspect of the game. Hoping with every new patch of 1.xx, ARR Alpha and ARR Beta has been frustrating at best but it'll all pay off if there are at least eventual plans to bring in wider world crafting and gathering quests and/or FATE's ^_^

Hehe, no clue, I just remembered when I saw the Erozean stuff I just jotted it down and then studied it until I'm comfortable with writing it. I always write in Erozean in real life and I wish that in FFXIV in the chat option they give us the option to have the font be in Erozean. I can already read the letters in-game at ease! :D

Plus I had to write/draw small cause the sketchbook is only about 5.5" x 8.5".
