Now there may be a more "efficient" way to get down to these values, but this is kind of a "off the top of my head" here. Try something like this:

x1 O'ghomoro Berry
x6 Mamook Pear
x9 Xelphatol Apple

What I'm banking on, is this will get you into the ballpark of Soot Black. Then, when you're closer, we can make small mofifications from what color you land on to the eventually preferred color.

following that amount of fruit landed my bird on royal blue which is only two steps down from storm blue. maybe that will be some help for the calculations you are working on.

With your current values of red, the more berries you will feed him, the more you will slowly move towards purple. Rolanberry Red is a dark magenta.

So adding more blue is good, you should also add a little bit of green to darken the colors.

I've been trying to replicate this so hard. How many berries did you have to feed your chocobo to get 1 plumage proc? I fed mine 18+ and got nothing.

Anyone got Ink Blue? What I can feed to get it?

Is Apple Green the deepest green you can get? I've fed it's 30+ pears with no message. 1 plum, 3 apples, and 3 berries with no message of feather changing.

also, my GF followed this exactly (pineapples until 1 message) and got the exact same result.

Desert yellow => pineapple => honey yellow seems confirmed



nope, my gf got her message in 2 pineapples. Also, pumpkin => sunset has been confirmed with 1 apple message only, sorry but your valfruit got to waste :/

Mostly blue, with a large amount of red and green that doesnt surpass the amount of blue being fed. It's as close to black as it gets, but with more blue mixed into it.

No. There are definitely darker shades than this. In this thread I've seen turquoise (spelled it correctly, I hope) and moss green.

Mine is apple green now, too. I'd like a darker shade and anything greenish/blueish would be nice. I just don't know which fruit to choose next?
I fed my chocobo 2 Doman Plums to get him on apple green from lime green. Which would you recommend? Plum or Pear?
