I sure hope so, but i find it unlikely given the time, and the fact that the rep would probably have said "replace" not "remove".

honestly, i think the only way of having such animations in 2.0 is if they listen to the community.

1) Those animations you saw in the gameplay, aren't even finished yet ( Includes movement, Weapon Skills etc)
2) As Xmbei said, I'm sure the keyword here is Replaced, yeah they said removed... but what's a game with no animations? I'm sure replaced is the better word here
3) Were still in the beginning stages of Alpha ( barely into it even) and there's alot of ground to cover, all we can do is give them feedback towards better animation and whatever else in the game that needs improving.

Starlord, I think you are too optimist here. Clearly they said inertia movement animation was removed due to gameplay focus. For myself, removed inertia movement animation wont affect my game experience.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. A game can still exist with no animations for inertia / momentum etc.., and them saying removed and not replaced, leads me to believe they were removed. If they were getting replaced, i'm sure the rep would have said replaced, or adjusted, or something similar.

That's why we're here, and i only hope it's still possible to include the missing animations, and also remove the backpedaling, since that also affects the gameplay and controls.

Would be nice if the community reps could get the developers to elaborate on the meaning of "Removed the animations".

Really the whole thread is about asking if "Remove" means we will never get them back or not. Because if we get a confirmation that they wont be coming back in any/way/shape/form. I bet this threads tone would change dramatically.

They said that some of the movement animations where removed for responsiveness.

Which if people have a sense of game design/programing or general computer logic, they would know that client side animations timed or phased immediately into the next animations required means that you dont need to remove them to get better responsiveness.

At least from what I've read (I read every 20 or so pages lol) this thread knows they said its not going to happen and is fairly dissapointed that they can't make it work.

From what I've seen this thread while endless bickering is fairly logical.

- If there was no movement animation~ How can a player move?
- If there's no Weapon Skill animation~ How can you see the players Weapon skill action?
- If there was no Animation for "Anything"~ How can one play the game itself? Every Game known to man needs some sort of animation to be even playable.

If there was no animation you wouldn't be able to see the "Illusion".

That's why I stated "since they said they are removing animation" There has to be something to replace the "Illusion" of those animations.

Games are nothing more than an illusion, A figure of your imagination. XD

They never said that. Because that would make zero sense, as you stated later in your post. They merely said they were focusing on gameplay, and that's why they removed them. Now i would love someone to explain to me what gameplay has to do with removing the animations.

The only possible link between gameplay and those animations i can think of, is animation lock. But that doesn't explain removing the leaning on passive mode for example.

That's true, but the animation lock is a different story. People argue that it will look weird if they allow skill animations to overwrite movement animations. I don't know how to respond to this claim, i need to see it to judge. Although i do believe that blending animations that don't look weird is not impossible, most games in this generation have them.

Also talks a lot about stuff unrelated.. so.. yeah.. lol

When one animation is in process and another one is needed to be run the two animations would blend together creating a step between the two animations. Like creating a look animation, a run animation and then letting the computer create the look while running animation without needing to separate the top and bottom half into different entities.
