Lies :P. Got my chest last night too. Now, I'm missing only the boots.
And my static got pissed, same weapon from last week (WAR Axe).

wheres my goddam spear ;-;
I'm not sure if I should be upset or happy that drg loot is not dropping for my group lol. That 1 drg loot dropped on like week 1 or 2 and hasnt seen a drg loot since. Oh and I guess a str neck piece dropped and it went to the monk but that's all. Literally 1 drg only and 1 drg equippable loot dropped in roughly 10 weeks of t10-11 clears and 2 weeks of t12 (too many vacations).

Finally got pants and spear last night completing the full DW set...and drg is just my alt job.
zodiac wellfare club gets better spears in 2 weeks anyway
n-not like i wanted a dreadwyrm spear anyway... h-hmph
Unless it doesnt go to 135.
You know, if you went with an "All 3s" zodiac spear.... I've took a rough guess using the BiS calculator on what the "BiS" for drg would be having the 21 acc spear i125 spear w/ all other i130 gear. It involved using... the dreadwyrm body and either the poetics belt OR dreadwyrm bracelet. Thus with the spear getting the "bump" next patch if it is indeed i135 you can enjoy using 1 less carbontwine, 1 less carboncoat, and use buttons! So much win :D
Ninja gets put in a similar situation. Kind of funny when you think about how being "lazy" and not doing all det/crit ends up being a "benefit" later due to itemization.
Unless that implies a savage mode final coil would drop better gear I can see an exceptionally large outlash against that. I still personally think going straight to i135 at this point of the patch is really early, but eh.
you can all die
I'm not making a relic ;-;
I'm at Novus with Relic so far and I REALLY don't wanna do anymore, I'd rather just raid and get it.
How do you guys handle the phase change between p1 & p2 on T11 btw? (transition to adds)
Do you guys move over to the right side of the boss at around 61% and prepare for the phase change (and put up DoTs)? Because in all honesty, I hate how there's a 2-3 second downtime between the transition and even more so when you hit 60% and the boss decides to say "Hey, screw you Dervy for doing too much DPS, I'm gunna do a nerve gas rotation trollolol" and my DPS goes to complete shit :(.
Keep DPSing. Assuming there's no Nerve Gas at the 60%, just move over to whichever side you need and get ready to back away when the boss turns to walk to the centre. I usually reapply Heavy Thrust/get off my Impulse Drive in this time. Not sure if DoTs tick in Kaliya's Emergency Mode, and keeping your rotation clean on the hectic mess of the add phase is invaluable.
Nerve Gas shouldn't be an issue, just keep DPSing as you dodge, and be in a position to get to your add as soon as you need too. Treat it like every other Gas, really :p
Moving to the right side at 61-62% seems like the better idea, depending on what is going on with the boss rotation. That being said, I normally have enough time regardless of the rotation. The very moment the boss drops to 62% I keep a close eye on the chat and when the phase change is noticed and the three little adds appear I slide on the right side (I normally sit on the left flank). The lightning cage does not appear instantly upon phase change (which is when the adds/message appear), but only after she (she?) does the last attack and then goes to the center turning south. Until then, you can still DPS. I don't remember the downtime being so "long".
I hang front-right before that transition. Minimal downtime, sure, but more importantly it's the least dangerous spot.
re: transition.
You can keep dpsing the boss until he becomes untargetable and there shouldn't be any danger of getting oneshot by the barofield/shield as long as you move out after. Just fight normally and rotate around the boss to get as close to the add spawning location as possible to minimise downtime.
If he transitions mid nerve gas - you just get more time to dps the boss. not a big deal - he'll still be targetable until the transition actually takes place.
I've been working on t13 a couple weeks now and I'm still trying to find the best way to get my full burst off properly if I get targeted and have to move for the megaflare circles (yay if I don't get anything or only have to swing round into the stack) ..has anyone got any tips for me please?
The way my group does it, it's a dance of heading into the stack if I have to get out of the big circles, then back out if I don't have a small circle. It's a little involved, but I have practice at it.
I probably wouldn't have to do that if we had a different plan for baiting the big circles (I've seen some groups stack a melee on MT, and I've seen some groups bait one directly underneath Bahamut--either of these can help make sure one of the sides other than the stack point remains safe).
For Dervy and t11, the guys covered up pretty everything. It depends on your DPS to say when the phase will shift, but keep in mind that, if a Nerve Gas started, she will do the full rotation (till Second Head) before move to the center and drop the shield. I usually stay on her left flank on 1st phase, then end up in back/right flank at 62% to wait and see if she'll change the phase or just do a full rotation. Just keep in mind that, if your tanks mess the pull a little bit, she may move in a "strange" way to the center of the room, and if you are close in this moment, you may get into the Barofield and screw your 2nd phase start.
For t13 initial burst, I have a lot of trouble with my tanks too. If I'm feeling lucky with my latency, I'll drop the circle on left flank (my position), go to the stack point, wait the red circle resolve and come back to my place befor ppl come to stack (or at least before the damage). If i'm with latency problems, I'll just get into Bahamut on wichever space I can get and then come back. When I go inside Bahamut hit box, I may eventually miss an auto-atack, but at least I can keep my rotation up. On the last scenario (ppl come drunk to raid), I'll run back, miss my skill but keep alive (and sad). Everything assuming I got the red circle but not the stack mark, of course.
About Earthshaker, I read mentions of Paladins using Cover on melees during P1. Did I get that wrong or is it possible, considering the amount of damage before and after Earthshaker? Is it to increase uptime or decrease damage taken, mainly?
Hello guys. First time writing here hehe. I have just few questions. What rotation you use in t12 ? I must do something wrong, cuz my damage is not so high how should be. And what rotation is in your opinion best for p3 - add phase?
Thanks for all tips and help.
Cover on another member not only gives the damage the Covered person would take to PLD, it also stops the sludge puddles from forming on either PLD or the melee. Very useful, though in truth DRG is one of the last guys who should get Cover. My group only Covers DRG on the second Earthshaker if no one better to be Covered got targeted in set 1 or 2.
I'll just semi-quote myself from a while back.
T12's basically training dummy for DRG. All you can really do P1/P2 beyond just dummy is make sure first Bennu gets hit by DFD and possibly multi-DoT Bennus. Add phase just attack each big bird starting fresh, HT > CT > Phleb priority like normal, if you have very high DPS you can just multi-DoT a bit and start your rotation over on the next bird in line to die. Try to make sure you have DFD up for this phase, if you have the choice between using it right before add phase or throttling it a little, throttle it. Don't use B4B if your stacks get incredibly high (should be able to survive 12~ stacks with B4B if topped off, don't B4B after this for sure) but in general you can use it without abandon, DRG should be one of the last to die in 2.45 (used to be the first and only guy in i110 ...)
Ideally in final phase they won't make you do fountain, and it's just more dummy at that point.
Thanks guys I will try the stack dance tonight ;D
Sleigh said it, it not only covers the damage, but prevent the sludge puddles. In fact, the negate of puddles is the thing here. However, I disagree on DRG beeing one of the lasts on Cover priority. I can think this is correct if your static has a MNK (who may have a major DPS loss due to disconect), but in my case, we have DRG(me), SMN, BLM and BRD (wrost dps setup, lol) so the PLD will look for me on the first Earthshaker. If I'm not targeted, he won't cover anyone.
For the second (if he didn't covered my on the first) he'll look to me and our BLM, but he'll cover the BLM only if I'm not a target. The BLM sure has a DPS loss, but less the me. For BRD and SMN, they can handle it and keep dpsing.
But it may vary, depending on several factors. For eg, if someone on your group has latency problems, or if your melee has a crap gear and you have a top BLM doing the most of the damage, and so goes on but in a fair dps competition, I think a melee should get covered.
p1 puddle priority should be blm only on the first set, then blm>melee on the second set. melee probably lose less than 1s of uptime and auto attacks on bahamut during earthshakers in p1
in p4 if you cover i think mnk>drg/nin>blm>smn/brd for cover priority. mnk has no ranged attacks while drg/nin do; blm can still dps while doing earthshakers especially if their saved proc+swiftcast lines up with it, and smn/brd are pretty mobile already
2 weeks, 2 monk claws
i think i got targeted by every earthshaker in p4 this week lol
Sleigh can you do something for me? Can you please write me full rotation which you use? I am just sure that I do mistake somewhere in my roation. Thanks for help!
Another SCH book, so that's 2 SCH books, 2 SMN books, and Ninja daggers in the past 5 attempts, the only thing we can even use is the SCH book. It's like we're making a library.
Just to be straight with you I most certainly do less damage than some of the heavy hitting DRGs in this thread, but if you want, I'll tell you what I do. I start with the Ricky Guo opener:
"HT (IR BFB) ID (xpot) disembowel (power surge leg sweep) ct (jump) phleb (dfd) TT (SSD) VT (life surge) FT"
Then keep a loose priority system of IR > B4B > Pot > Mercy Stroke (if no time for buffs before an add dies, use Mercy Stroke ASAP!) > Leg Sweep > Life Surge before a Full Thrust (can fit Leg Sweep + Leg Sweep between 2 and 3) > DFD (if not needed for AoE/travel otherwise possibly throttled) > Power Surge > Jump > Spineshatter Dive (if not needed for travel otherwise possibly throttled) for your oGCDs while maintaining the rotation of (HT priority, Phleb if HT is up) > (keep Chaos Thrust combo up, otherwise do Full Thrust combo) > (HT priority, Phleb if HT is up) > (keep Chaos Thrust combo up, otherwise do Full Thrust combo) > (HT priority, Phleb if HT is up) > (keep Chaos Thrust combo up, otherwise do Full Thrust combo) > etc
Keep in mind how to adjust your rotation based on adds spawning, breaks in the fight, and DFD/Spineshatter Dive minimizing travel time if Elusive Jump is unavailable or unfit for the job. When you use LB3, always use it in place of a Full Thrust combo (IE don't use it the second it comes up usually, wait until you've just done the HT or Phleb in your rotation before a Full Thrust combo.)
For T12 it's basically still that except it goes HT > IR + B4B > ID > Pot > Disembowel > DFD to hit the Bennu that just spawned > priority system, and you can time your second DFD to hit the 3rd Bennu if Phoenix is tanked in the center. Typically Elusive Jump is available for Bluefire placement unless very unlucky with multiples. Save 3rd DFD for Bennu phase. Pew pew final phase.
Gotta emphasize DRG is just my alt.
As soon as the ranged/OT can kill Bennus on their own, it's best if the melee don't touch 'em (except to prevent an awkward phase change). Motion is usually a DPS loss for melee in practice, and it doesn't take maximum advantage of damage-type debuffs like Disembowel.
Ninja and monks have a good mid-way option in putting Shadow Fang and Demolish on Bennus, but dragoons really lose that "perfect rotation" if they try DoTs on Bennus due to the 1-minute respawn time and the 1-minute DRG rotation.
So guys here is my rotation - HT-IR-Phl-Legsweep-ID-BFB-DFD-Dis-Spineshatter-ChT-PowerS-Jump-TT-VT-LS-FT after full rotation I go like HT-Phl-TT-VT-FT and after this I go again HT-IR(if is up)-Phl-ID-Dis-ChT-Jump-TT-VT-FT. So please some heavy hitters or anyone who have some idea for improvement can you help? I am thankful for every ideas.
