As I've stated It not a matter of negative consequences maybe to them and I say maybe it a matter of there principle's something they hold dear to and if another company hold to your value same applies to you. Its about respecting both views something that human's have very hard time doing in this day and age. Do I believe it will ban it because of ssm no do I believe in the rights of company's to chose how they want to represent there product no matter the views they might hold yes even ssm.

But your whole argument is based around if it will offend those againsf SSM yet ignoring if it will offend those for it if they restrict it. So much for respecting both views.

And your is to extremely poor example of why they should or should not have ssm imo its the company choice not your's or any others how if they implement it. People with an ideology only listen to what they want to hear and expect everyone around them to just jump aboard and not have a different view of things. This thread seem to only cater to a one sided view on things and a how dare someone disagree with my view attitude this is the only reason this thread even still going atm.

Amen to that brother :D. Everything like a coin has two sides one not bigger than the other

lol and this is why marriage should not be in this game period, straight or same sex. theres 2 sides to this and you cant please everybody.

This is why most people have moved onto wanting to call it something else but most of those who don't want SSM are still on their side of the fence saying "nope".

To be fair though, this view could be applied to almost anything they implement. MMO players especially are rarely happy with anything they're given. So if it doesn't make 100% of the playerbase happy, they shouldn't do it.

I don't see the use of this thread other than time killing reading the arguments and getting amused by some.
I'm glad they won't implement SSM, and hope they never do. I understand that maybe a guy makes a female character and say his "wife" created a female character and they wanna get married in game. Well, then just create a male character such as yourself, they made male Mithras and Female Galkas in ARR (or maqutos and whatever their name is) so now you don't have an excuse.
To me as a guy it feels wrong to choose a female character as a main character (wouldn't mind picking a female character as a mule for storing items but then again in FFXI I had 3 characters, 2 mules and none of them was a female) but this is my own opinion.

lol, choosing opposite sex or SSM is just unnatural =\, and the latter is just gross :<

I saw over 500 votes to SSM and i'm sure most of them want it just for the "lol"s of it and probably don't care but just to oppose those who don't want it (this is a common trait of typical american gamers from what I've seen over the years of online gaming)
