I was running this back in ARR and haven't watched it either. I even got lost because I didn't know how to get into Magitek (derp). But the party waited for me at Nero, I think. I usually skip long cutscenes everywhere though, because I don't want anybody waiting for me (especially when it's more than 3 people). I mean it is frustrating for a newbie when they want to watch the story, but these two story dungeons are so badly done that nobody is going to willingly wait for half an hour or more for one person to watch cutscenes, especially in duty finder. This topic was here zillion times already, but at least you still have a chance to watch majority of CS from there in the inn room. Or as others said, if you put it on in PF with the CS warning, peeps will help :) You don't need 8 people for it anyway anymore :)

So it seems to be a common thing having to skip even earlier people. I just thought it was something newbies were suffering due to being late to the party as such. Good to know and don't feel as bad now. I apologise for making broad assumptions :)

Only issue with making a party and stating is that if it's your first time then you probably have no idea there are cutscenes outside the opening drone flight scene that accompanies all dungeons. Obviously on subsequent runs I know and can do that but the initial could catch you off guard as it did with myself.

Anyway, Trial roulette gave Royal Menagerie. It is becoming a habit.
1 new people and 3 wipes after, I only said "Well, Square need put echo here". Other player said "git gud scrub". Did not have rage quits and after that was success.

So I saw a little BRD, in Hraesvelgr's dungeon, who was apparently new despite not even having the common decency to have a bonus.

No Foe Requiem, no Army's Paeon, no Mage's Ballad, no Wanderer's Minuet, no Tactician or Refresh or even Peloton. They were more interested in standing around doing absolutely nothing.

I started writing out these skill names in chat, in the hopes that they would start using these skills. I said nothing about the fact that they were contributing less DPS than me, a WHM. I neither swore nor shouted at them.

The DRG asked if they'd bought a jump potion, again with neither swearing nor shouting.

The PLD called us both dicks.

And it's people like that PLD who are contributing to this problem. Also, jump potions were a mistake.

You know... when jump potions were announced, I was all over the idea. Easier for sprouts to catch up and whatnot - I STILL don't think it's an entirely bad concept, given how irritatingly long MSQ is.

I can't deny though, that ever since SB came around I've seen things so unbelievable my willingness to run anything through DF has dwindled down to very, very low levels... I just do hunts for tomes, unless I've been doing nothing all week and am pressed for time come pre reset monday.

Seeing people in post-50 dungeons using about one or two skills without even attempting to use anything else is just kind of kills the mood for me, lol. Not that this didn't happen before, because it DID, it just feels worse now.

Perhaps one day we'll see an improvement to Hall of the Novice to compensate for this?

It's honestly hit or miss Jump potions haven't changed anything in the grand scheme of things i've ran into a Drk use FLASH pre SB in Sohm Al HM and didn't use Darkside either that was without jump potions. That's not to say I haven't ran into clueless Jump Potion people either I had one today but they listened to my advice and used their CDs and AoE threat generating abilities while they mass pulled, yeah they lost threat but they tried and listened to advice.

Now I have a recent story that actually involves my friend who used a jump potion and a fully decked out Drg in Creator Savage gear in Xelphatol where my friend who was a Brd was giving me Pallisade, always having songs up, using their DPS CDs and AoE on trash pulls. The Drg? Single target 1-2-3, no Blood of the Dragon, Blood for Blood etc, saw maybe 2 jumps, they even had an A12S weapon and I asked them could they pick up the slack.

They got super hostile saying that they got this 2 days in a row now and they're bored of it, so? Not our problem. We kicked him after 1st boss because he just wanted to AFK and hit his 1-2-3 combo, also to note my friend has played other MMOs but he's never touched FFXIV before but he picked it up quickly and was glad he could skip story stuff to play with me on Leviathan.

...I don't understand why people used to do that. Not only does Unleash have nearly the same range as Flash, it also deals damage on top of getting the attention of the mobs. Darkside...if you're not used to keeping your MP up can be a bit daunting at first, but with everything, practice practice practice.

Not to mention back then Unleash did 100 potency + Darkside giving you more damage and threat, also Flash the blind only works for Pld so I honestly dunno what goes through people's minds lol.
