They dont comment on these things .^^
Their stance was with the RMT report. They already put out a statement without even bothering to mention anything about pending investigations into claims of false suspensions, therefore they are already stating they didn't make any mistakes and they are 100% correct.

"We are dealing with them after carefully investigating, so for those that are normally playing, and collecting money wouldn’t have any problem. We will not randomly suspend accounts so please do not worry."
So basically if you TRULY ARE innocent, contact SE and they'll look into it - Note: Looking into something doesn't mean it will be done in 10 minutes or even a day or week, especially when you have not so innocent people trying to get un-suspended and unbanned. Even Blizzard takes awhile to look into certain cases.
My gardening mules were banned in XI and then the ban was removed. They told me that it was perma and I had to write to el Segundo CA. What's funny is that I had 42 mules, they only banned 20 of them. The others were left completely alone. Even though they all had similar names. Sgmthirtytwo Sgmthirtythree etc etc. No rhyme or reason to the bans. SE just sucks with this type of stuff.
I just got off the phone with Square Enix Support. A guy named Tom answered the phone and was extremely helpful and to the point. He informed me that my account was most likely hacked and that an investigation would be launched to look at my account activity. It seems that while I was logged out, a gil salesman had somehow hacked into my account and was using my character to spam /shout or /tell to sell gil. Tom said that if it the investigation confirms these details, then my account should be reopened anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. This is fine by me, as long as my account is secure and I do not loose the ~1000+ hours invested on the account. Thank you Square Enix.
I read through all 48 pages of this (because i'm bored at work) and one of these pages it was brought up Lafelle or whatever that persons name is had the exact same thing happen.... she ended up on a blacklist as spamming shouts to sell gil. This could be the problem people dont even realize their account was hacked and they were shouting un ul'dah to buy gear from some website.
Some may have had their account hacked, but I think most here were just banned for having gained a lot of gil through crafting.
I spoke to my FC to see if my chat had logged in since I logged out, yet it had not been. So doubt my account was hacked.
I've just had a reply from EU email support in German... luckily we have Google translate... but it contained no useful information whatsoever.
As for how all the gil was generated, that was answered on reddit. If you look at the numbers, there are only 1M FF14 players. Playing through and questing gets you probably about 250-300K. If every player had done that process, that'd be 300K * 1M, i.e. still short of the amount banned. That doesn't even include the fact that obviously not everyone has done so. The answer given on the FF14 subreddit was that there was a gil generation exploit discovered which turned wet bombard ash into sparklers which were then sold for 10gil each. Speedhacks were employed and it resulted in the generation of (allegedly) millions of gil an hour. Additionally, supposedly there was/is another exploit which has not been explained as of yet.
Sounds far fetched to me to be honest, 10gil per sparkler = billions needed to make the sort of gil SE are talking about.
Also the ash needs to be farmed first.
Thought I did hand in a lot of ash the week before the suspension, well enough to get 200ish of each sparkler (as my wife loves fireworks in game, so I wanted enough to last her a year or so...), I could have got a lot more, but was bored silly after handing in that many as it was.
I feel bad for anyone getting wrongfully banned. If it happened to me, I don't think I would be willing to give my money to SE afterwards. Kind of leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
Please read my post.
I already had stacks of ash from doing the bomb fate at costa del sol.
I handed in enough to get around 200 of each sparkler for my wife to use later down the line, once the event was over.
I could have got a lot more, but was bored silly handing the ash in.
I did not even know they had an npc value, but don't see how 10gil is going to make any difference.
tbh it should be obvious by now that it's more likely they've employed a web based suspension system rather than just suspending anyone with more than X gil depending on the server
if you have gil that was ultimately obtained by goldsellers or gil exploits (probably the latter) then you probably got flagged for a suspension to remove the gil from the economy before it spread out even more.
Me either, perhaps they flagged you because you bought all the sparklers and they thought you were going to do it? I don't know if they have Gil value or not...interesting theory though if there is truth to the wet bomb thingy. Dont see how that could be a legit money dup bug though. That type of bug I have heard of back In XI was something to do with salvaging and trade ins. Those people got in trouble. Did anyone else buy bulk fire works?! Lol
I didn't cheat or buy gil in any way and I didn't get any sparkles either but still got suspended. I was only selling rares ores (HQ and NQ) and mid 30s items i was doing while lvling weaver (6500g each for velveteen cap of gathering). My only guess is that I got flagged cause someone else who bought gils got something off my retainer. I made millions since I was the first 46+ miner on my server and only supplier for rare mining mats for a couple of days. I just wish SE would release the info to let people know the reasons people got suspended...
You have accused us of cheating over and over again and repeated this same sentence many times.
You have no more proof that your FC members are telling the truth, than you have to say we are not.
So I can only assume you are "trolling".
It is possible. But assuming the person above is right and they are worth 10gil each, my 600ish sparklers would only be worth 6000 gil to an NPC :S
But even if fireworks are worth 10gil each and people farm wet ash in order to buy them and sell to the NPC for gil, surely this would be a legit (yet slow) method for making gil. (assuming no 3rd party programs were used ofc)

when people with less than 1m are getting suspended and people with more than 10m aren't, it's pretty simple to see the likely suspension methodology doesn't involve a set amount of gil as a blanket point
some people have had the misfortune of coming into contact with illicit gil, and they got suspended for it. of course, the more gil you have, the more likely you probably had business with someone who had illicit gil. it explains also why people who dealt in 2 star crafts were more likely to get suspended, since it's more likely that a gil buyer would buy those items with their flagged gil
Come on guys, how naive can you be if you think SE actually BANS people for having over 1 million gil. SE and no other company will tell you how they register a bot from another person, because this would give away to the real cheaters how their system works.
Obviously, 99 % of the time, the people who get suspended knew VERY well what they were doing, but they always play dumb in the forums. I've seen this so many times but the dev reply is, we have sufficient evidence to prove that you knew very well what you're doing and are just trying to blindly lie your way through to see if you have a shot to getting your account back.
Let I remind everyone who buys gil from RMT, if that guy gets caught, all transaction will trace back to you and everyone they dealt with. RMT guy doesn't lose anything cuz he already got your money but you lose your money and your account.
So don't be stupid and play the game for what it is.
Hard to be patient now since I'm suspended since last friday and they didn't post anything about it. There's way too many people claiming they did nothing wrong (including me) and if we really did something wrong I think we would have stopped by now. I really I hope people won't get banned if some random gil buyers get one of your items on the market cause we can't even control who buy our stuff.
You are welcome.Quote:
Included in the above are players who used/obtained gil, items, or actions through fraudulent means. Although we are taking the utmost care and attention to prevent such actions, players who discover any confirmed cheats should, under no circumstances, exploit or disseminate such information. Instead, we ask that players file a report by using the in-game command [System Menu] -> [Support Desk] -> [Contact Us] -> [Report Cheating].
In addition, the recent maintenance operations have implemented countermeasures to nullify the effects of the aforementioned cheats.
We will continue to take stringent disciplinary action against any accounts with confirmed involvement in RMT/illicit activity; players should take care to steer clear of any activity that violates the Terms of Service. Please be forewarned.
* "Cheating" consists of using third party programs or tools to conduct actions players would not normally be able to do in the game (for example, obtaining gil or items through illicit means, traversing at extremely high speeds, warping, using automated means to operate your character while you are away from the game).
This. This needs to be posted and re-posted so all the players claiming wrongful banning (for having "too much gil") are outed as the liars that they are. SE has been banning accounts for years in FFXI, and they're experienced enough to know how all this works. The rest of you stop the madness and wild speculation. Hopefully these boards will weed out the masses when the free time expires this weekend :D
When i called CS they told me this is a new game so they are still working out the kinks to make sure wrongful suspensions won't happen. So i was told they are acknowledging that they have wrongfully suspended people and their excuse "its a new game, so we make mistakes."
And you are linking Japanese statements. Their CS have actual power to order an investigation or look deeper into the problem at hand. Try calling NA CS. they are powerless to help you with anything about investigations or anything past looking up general information.
It seems they really did...
My main (used to sell HQ accessories/HQ 1 star items, materia etc) had 12.6mil - logged in and it's now 126k.
My alt (selling accessories, mats and materia mostly) had 3.4mil - logged in and still has 3.4mil.
No email or anything.
Will be contacting live chat support again soon, totally ridiculous.
Yeah my main had it's gil exactly divided by 100 I believe so like 12,6xx,xyy to 126,xxx, if that makes sense.
I'm sure some will try "trolling" me and accusations, but my problem is with SE.
Funny thing is, if I actually was a RMT'er, then these "trolls" should also be complaining that my account was returned and that I was left with over 3.5mil.
So no matter if I'm telling the truth or not, SE has a lot to answer for.
Na player here from famirit. I went from 1.2mil (800k from grinding CM, spirit bonding and selling qt3 when they were 70-100k, sold phi tome crafting mats for rest). Logged in, 50k gil.
I can see why they can't tell us what kind of investigation they did...
16mil to 160k..I was calmly waiting for them to do whatever they needed to do and they didn't even investigate me. No RMT, no botting, just entirely too much free time. Like if they actually did investigate the number of transactions are ridiculous and spread throughout the day selling the same genre of items to the masses. I call bullshit on this entire thing, not only was I robbed of 7 days at ground zero gametime, the crucial time, I also got robbed of all the time I've invested thus far after putting off my combat job a while just to focus on making coin. This is not how you treat people, so fucking livid. Can't wait until tomorrow to call NA CS who already are powerless in their own game so I can beg for them to ACTUALLY investigate me until I get brushed aside and wind up quitting. Why invest time in a game that disciplines you for doing too much? Just absolutely ridiculous...
Or maybe the entire process was automated so there was no investigation to begin with, hence why only the main characters were affected. It seems they didn't even bother making their Gil deletion process work across different characters on the same account nor did they make it delete Gil on retainers. The whole business just seem like the kind of out-of-touch behavior SE support has always been famous for. But hey, as far as half of the player population is concerned, you all got what you deserved because apparently, according to SE, they NEVER wrongly suspend anyone in the first place. Ironic how they go out of their way suspending people from the forum for "encouraging others to discriminate against a specific group" when they do the job themselves better than any poster ever could.
That sounds more reasonable to be honest. It definitely is the worst type of process when it comes to something like this. I can understand that they want to save the economy on the servers, but when so many innocent people get caught in between, it's not worth it. They should had been able to investigate it in a more detailed manner and focus on getting innocent people caught to a minimum.
