Don't let this week's theme fool you, the BiS job is really Alchemist and the gear hints are actually based off of clothes an NPC's sister's friend's cousin's husband's nephew was wearing in that one cutscene.

Since To Adventure on the body was Survival Top (a few fashions reports ago) - could that mean that Survival Pant's are the BiS for gold this week. As for whiskers the only thing that springs to mind is the MGP Couerl mask from the saucer. Gloves being fleece maybe refers to woolen gloves? Its all pretty vague atm but I reckon the armor is probably the augmented dyeable 180 Galleykeep's white? I can't think of any other AF that are dyeable aside from the yellow scrips augment.. hrm..
Could head piece be Moogle Head? it has whiskers....... also thinking wolf gloves might be for hands (a wolf in sheeps clothing?)
Legs are most likely Survival Halfslops.
The rest other than hands sounds like stuff you\'d have to get yourself so far, but I\'m sure there\'s cheap crafted options for less points.
In other languages, the hints for hands are mostly 'costume'.
Since the german-version is... slightly different than this (for example: I was thinking about something made out of wool for the gloves...), I thought I'd offer our german hints aswell:
Head: Beardy (Bärtig - that sounds actually more like a beard, not cat whiskers)
Chest: Behind the Stove (Hinterm Herd)
Gloves: Costume (Kostümiert)
Legs: Expedition (Expedition - just like the hint we had two weeks ago)
Ring: Flagship/Model-Crafter (Vorzeigehandwerker)
The theme is hinting towards culinarien - its not as easy to translate since its based on a german phrase (Total abgebrüht) but my best attempt would be "Totally boiled"...
Oh gee I wonder which class will be advantageous to have.
One of the old Santa beards might work for the headpiece.
Chest piece is probably Culinarian stuff (but then again "pirates in the sky" last week...).
I'll try the wolf gloves first thing on Friday just for the heck of it.
Survival pants probably.
Master Culinarian's Ring might be a good one?
what about the coeurl mask?
Personally I doubt it - it cant be dyed and it doesnt fit the german hint.
My best guess right now is the Fals Mustache - its beardy (german), it can count as "wild whiskers", I'd say and it can be dyed... only problem: if you didnt get it in 2014, you probably cant get it again now. But since that didnt bother them with the Songbird-Hat the first week, it might still be a good guess - fingers crossed I'm not right and its not BiS for those who cant get it.
"Iron" chef might be a hint for the dyes? Raindeers gloves maybe for the hands, if chest is culinarian locked might need to find a dyeable weap too, although from last week's challenge we learned that the BiS might not involve a dyeable piece of gear (see shiva ex katana) so using coeurl whiskers for "wild whiskers" might give gold even if it's not dyeable
If you're not a chef, Vintage Chef's Apron most likely will be the highest rated item, I'm guessing 3-4 stars undyed.
"Iron" could also be a hint towards the Ironworks Crafting gear, maybe? I admit that some actually cul-gear is more likely, given the hints on the slots (and seeing how there is no such hint towards Garlond stuff in the german version... unless we want to interpret the german theme as "Pretty badass", which would be a legit, semantic "translation" and then apply this to Cid... who is indeed pretty badass?)
The only dyeable tools are the Lucis ones btw... so... another week of those - pretty happy we got the achievment for my boyfriend last week now...
I wonder if we could use the Valentione Aprons for the Chest piece? :B
Mistbeard mask for head? And the coeurl mask is dyeable so that could work too. My immediate thought was cait sith crown or mistbeard. And i thought meteor survival ring for the ring but with the German translation im thinking its one of the Master rings you get from crafting/gathering.
There are also Coeurl Eyeglasses and an eye patch, along with the MGP mask that have the Coeurl thing going on.
Yes. Its in Camp Bronze lake i think? You can get a master ring for DoW and DoW from completing the hunt log too.

Fashion Report challenge for week 4 (2018-02-20)
Theme: A veteran cook
Head: beard/mustache (eta: "hige" is also used to refer to whiskers on animals)
Chest: chef
Hands: kigurumi (cartoon character costume)
Legs: exploration
Ring: a skilled producer
Pls no more lucis @.@
I have yet to try the fashion report, but thought I read somewhere that you get 10,000 mgp just for the attempt. Is this true? Or maybe my memory is fuzzy? If true then I should start doing it since I'm saving up mgp and doing GS challenge log every week. Anything that helps.
So this is what I'll try to submit:
Weap: chantico lucis
Head: false mustache
Body: galleymaster's whites
Hands: reindeer gloves
Legs: survival halfslops
Ring: master culinarian's ring
Wish me good luck xD
Yes, you'll get 10k just for taking part - and an additional 50k if you get more than 80 points, which is normally achievable without spending tones of gil on expensive dyes/gear.
Just make sure to have something in every gearslot, everything dyed (even if its not the correct colour! Just dye it - bonus-points if its close to the right colour or spot on, ofc!) - dont run straight to the MB either for the gear... I shouldnt admit that, but we crafters are making you bleed there...
...I think you get another 10k if you get over 90 points? But that requires some effort/spendings already - so you need to consider if thats worth the effort for you!
While thats true I wouldnt bet on those... the german hint is pretty clear on it being crafting related - Handwerker = Crafter... but hey, they fooled us with the Skypirate last week. And maybe they'll allow like a 3-star-rating for DoW/DoM-rings for anyone who hasnt leveled/grinded up crafters...?
I looked at the stuff this morning(after seeing how the housing thing sorted out). The leader of the CUL guild(and guy who runs the best restaurant in Limsa - so cooking for the maelstrom? maybe a stretch?) is wearing the level 50 CUL apron. So thats possible(and much easier to get then galleymaster). And my first thought on the ring was actually the weathered ring, though the master one probly makes more sense.
Well I didn't get either the beard or the moustache on either of my characters from the Christmas event so its most likely mogstation for me. But I would like to wait and see until its confirmed which one it is before buying. Because I can only afford to buy one or the other - with the low amount of crysta I have left.. xD
The "In Sheep's Clothing" for the gloves basically screams the "wolf in sheep's clothing" saying to me, and I think it's going to be the werewolf gloves from this past Halloween event. My first thought for the "Wild Whiskers" was the Saint's Beard from a few years ago, and I'm honestly not seeing a whole lot to change my mind much on that, so I'll be trying that out.
For the head piece ? "Iron Chef" and the hint in french "Barbe ou moustache" (Beard or mustache) and in german "Bärtig" (Beardy)...
i bet on the "Imitation Mistbeard Mask" with iron, moustache and beard !
Just remember that the fashion report are less likely to use mogstation or event exclusive items, exclusively. They could give 3-5 stars but the BiS is less likely exclusive. Just remember what happened to the peach blossom necklace in week 2. So it's not a point of worry. There will be always non-mogstation/event-exclusive alternative.
The level 50 CUL apron is very much dyeable!
Considering the english hint "Cooking up a Storm" I'm a little conflicted though - that could be a hint towards the Stormblood-cul-questgiver, which would be the Galleykeep's Apron (maybe dyed the same orange than his? Or maybe orange as general dye direction, possibly?). However the german hint only points to him by a stretch - Hinterm Herd/Behind the stove... while that obviously screams cul, no doubt, you could stretch that out to it being a term thats used in a derogatory way towards housewives (bascially the german version of "Woman belong in the kitchen" - "Woman belong behind the stove") and that, considering the SB-cul-quest that could apply to him in a way? If I'm making any sense right now...
Probably worth to try both!
Do know that while the other localization's hint words can be taken literally, the English words should almost never be taken literally, broken up by the word.
You'll have to reinfer what it is. Just like how In Sheep's Clothing most likely mean wolf, cooking up a storm is most likely just about cooking.
Otherwise we'd have to infer that the gloves is sheep's gloves (is there even one in the game?), but the English localization are never straightforward with their hints so.
The hints for the hands is "costume" for both French and German translations, which is why I believe any furry hands costume will do
“Pretty kitty? I don’t know who you are talking about! I am the furstash cook! Cooking adventurer extraordinaire!!

I'm wondering if "Cooking up a storm" is a reference to the CUL guild outfit in Limsa.
Linen Smock is what the NPCs are wearing, it looks like.
