All Purchasable Copies of FFXIV Should Have a Level Skip / Story Skip

Why would they "need to go through 1~110" all at once, above all else?

Because the friends that got them into the game are too self-centered and crap to join them in sub-cap group content and play together? You know, all the flipping MSQ dungeons and trials, or the 6 sets of 3 alliances, any of the 3 field operations out and their own duties, any of the world bosses, any of 3 trial series, any of Extreme trials which those friends could help clear SYNCED and HAVE FUN TOGETHER taking the new player into that challenge if they're interested, ditto for the 6+ normal raid series or their savage counterpart, or all the non-combat content that they could play together at, etc.
A lot of the older high-end content is still challenging, still fun to learn and clear, and much of the skillset carries over to future content.

There is a ton of content below the current expansion's level cap and since this game is all about syncing everyone for every god damn instance, and item level is really just a key that unlocks higher content you can't do otherwise, this obsession about asking new players to push push push through 400+ hours of MSQ before they do anything with you is the real malice here, not the fact the MSQ is long.

You want to argue syncing down to Lv50 and under sucks, fine. But if you're gonna use that excuse for Lv60, 70, 80, and 90 content as well, you're being a crap "friend". No ifs or buts about it.

I don't care if i'm in the minority who thinks this "prioritize MSQ TIL CURRENT, D00D" mindset is cancerous. It is. And screw anyone who disagrees, quite frankly.

The problem, that this content is outdated with current powercreep and instaecho.
Like, if I go to Obonner raid. I will get a raid with full Echo on by default.
Devs dont care about old content, they need to sold u new fancy expac.

I want to rush to complete DT, not because some one told me to, but because 1-90 content is outdated joke, and I dont want to miss out on 90-100 content, before it will become a joke too, after new expac release.

Please think a little before posting such weightless 'arguments'.

You do not have to go through neither normal nor savage raids in order to jump into MSQ.
You do have to go through MSQ to jump into raids.

I think one of the biggest issues the game currently has is how hard it is to recommend to friends who want to group play. As much as I enjoy the story, a lot of people don't care about it or just want to play with their friends yet are stuck at threading through it to even unlock stuff they can do together.

It would be nice if they could solve this in a way that doesn't break the story progression but allows new players to access high end content through sheer leveling somehow.

For me, I’d rather just start a fresh level 1 character with my friend.
It’s either a nice reset from the usual routine for me, or an opportunity to experience a different starting city storyline again.

But you aren't really participating much in friend's journey anyway, aside from duties, and game still have to somehow keep newcomers interest

What makes you think I’m not?
I’m literally doing the exact same thing he would be doing.
In fact, I’m level one with my friend right now.
We’re still discussing cutscenes through linkshell during almost every story segment, so functionally it makes very little difference outside of a few solo instances.
And honestly, if someone is truly your friend, wouldn’t it make more sense to invest time helping them build a connection to the world of FF14 instead of just handing them a story skip and rushing past the experience together?

I don't see why it should be limited to the start of an expansion. Just make an option to have someone be max level with all content unlocked and they don't even need to go through 10 levels of grinding/story.

Look if they're not interested in the story why bother with making them chat to endless NPCs and skipping hundreds of cutscenes just to get caught up/unlock things?

I still wish they would improve New Game+ as a system, then. The current version is so limited and janky.

One expansion actually goes very quickly if you skip all cutscenes.
