Can we talk about the Yoshi P double standard and bias here?

Dude, MCH is sick enough for both CC and Frontline. You can even just queue as MCH and guarantee Crystal rank. You can get BH5 easily or kill any BH5 with just Analyze Drill + Sniper.

But DNC? This one needs help more for both modes. 15y is so awkward to use, and Honing Dance and the LB is also annoying to use. :( (Even NIN's ranged attack is 25y, come on now...)

MCH, a selfish dps in PVE, isnt the strongest dps, in PVE.

Haven't been with FFXIV for years long to notice any bias, not until the horrible Samurai changes happened without any acknowledgement.

Yoshi-P said " try it out " and " give us feedback ". We tried it, it's horrible, gave feedback, yet radio silence... not a single word from Square, Yoshi-P or the Dev team. Of course the usual FFXIV Zealots come out of the wood work to defend Square and co, the obvious excuses of a revert not being possible on minor patches and that they will not do anything during small patches, sure I'll buy into it... but not even acknowledged? well what were they doing or capable of doing instead?

And still not a single word gutting the enjoyment out of Samurai? They can Change/Address/Fix BLM PvP on minor patches in fact they can do all of the above during minor patches, sure but as soon as it's non-BLM related? we won't even " hear antyhing " .

Many changes probably for other jobs as well weren't warranted, or weren't even requested. But got utterly simplified. Let's look at 6.1 to see which Job was saved any possible horrible changes.

PS: how's that Hrothgar hair holding out for our Hrothgar players?

Personally don't care about Hrothgar hair issue.. lol, but I think that 2b hair photo looks bad and get why others are annoyed given that modders seam to have 'fixed' most issues in general. I don't think even if you fix the issues that Hrothgar will be a super popular race but I am glad it exists and I do think it plays a good part in diversity of silhouettes.

Of course I think it should be fixed, but I've hardly had issues being Hrothgar since I don't really change appearance. (Since 1.0 beta I changed my character once... From highlander to Hrothgar).

It would be nice to hear why modders seem to be able to fix some issues but it's not as possible officially, I can totally understand if the team is swamped but would this be a good example of something you could outsource? Is there some programming reason, why is the local fix possible but not at large?

Am curious to what the major issue is. I feel some modders would offer their work up for free or small fee if they really wanted budget friendly lol. Sure it would look a bit silly but so does the alternative. In some ways it reminds me of Bethesda with their bugs they never fix because they have modders who make unofficial patches that are now basically mandatory lol. There are of course nuisances, I've read some modded outfits can crash your game in certain situations (some, not saying most or all)- so standard to specifications is none... But still I think, this might be an example where you just outsource it if you can't sacrifice the internal talent.

Heavily agree with MCH being strong. You can directly shoot someone to death in CC or Frontlines if you setup the combo correctly with analysis drill, especially during LB.

Tbh, I've seen some really good DNC in Crystalline Conflict in Crystal tier after the patch changes, so they're in a decent place now. I don't play DNC much at high tier, but I can see when the DNC carry hard in my matches because you can visibly feel the effects. They can do top DPS in some of my games too. Imo, it doesn't need huge balance changes at all to the gameplay like increasing the range tbh. Unlike MCH and BRD who takes a walk/charge penalty to its attack skill, DNC doesn't have that slow penalty as their main weaponskill is instant - but in exchange their AoE is ridiculously strong and their range is nerfed. You can skirt around this issue using En Avant (which is their core mechanic in their gameplay). If anything, the only big change I'd want is to allow using En Avant with certain abilities. Other than that, the job is very solid to play around.

At first glance, Ninja leans closer to a ranged DPS, but don't underestimate how much Assassinate contributes to their damage, especially when you pair it with Bunshin. They have to stealth in a lot in order to use that weaponskill, which can put strict limitations to their range as they have to go back in melee range consistently. Unlike their melee counterparts (SAM, MNK, DRG), Ninja is actually the most squishiest melee because they lack strong sustain/mitigation without compromising on their own damage. Meisui & Huton are great utility skills, but at a great DPS loss since they share a cooldown with your other powerful mudras, so you don't want to use Meisui and Huton at all if you can avoid it as the extra charge is integral to helping you secure a kill. As a result, ninjas are meant to be played by moving between mid-range and close-range to optimize their Shukuchi/Assassinate/mug usage or else they will do below average damage. This is where their 25y Shurikens come in to cover for that lack of defense.

... Which is why the Ninja Shukuchi nerfs made no sense at all. Every job has a sprint on unlimited duration and no cooldown. If the enemy literally sprints past because they see the ninja shukuchi, the ninja is not going to be able to target them because they'll just run past you and you can't stay in stealth to sprint (thus rendering their 12k potency assassinate weaponskill useless). Likewise, using it to run away means you can't dash out under stealth either since there's an indicator on which direction the ninja will Shukuchi in with their animation. The opposing enemy can start sprinting in your general direction and to counter it, you have to break stealth - making the stealth part entirely useless.

That's not to mention the other problems the [hidden] status effect suffers before this nerf:
1. Stealth fails if you get CC'd right as you use Shukuchi but haven't dashed (placing it on cooldown)
2. Stealth fails if you get hit by CC, a regular attack (ranged attack), or a gap-closer attack immediately after you dash because there is a delay between the dash and the hidden effect rendering you untargetable. The attack animation follows you after dashing, creating a small delay between when you get hit and when you Shukuchi - immediately breaking stealth and nullifying the "remove targeting on ninja after using Shukuchi" effect. If you ever got hit by a WAR's blota after you dashed away and got yanked back & lost your stealth even when you're supposed to be untargetable -- this is the reason why.
3. Stealth breaks if you get hit by a stray AOE after Shukuchi. -- which means when people are grouped up, chances are that the ninja is going to be hit by a stray AoE and lose their weaponskill attack

PvP Black Mage is still ridiculously strong even in 6.15. The changes from patch 6.11a to patch 6.15 didn't really nerf Black Mage's overall performance much since the job was already super overtuned at an abnormal level. Now it's just overpowered instead abnormally overtuned. The job has to be heavily focused quite often and suppressed or your team will lose. I had games where the Black Mage has the most deaths in the entire game, but still did damage on-par with every other DPS. Their 12k GCD Flare/Freezes (72k) on top of a 16k Burst, 16k Foul, and 9k Superflare is no joke due to their quick Limit Break timer. They can easily hit over 100k damage a minute, and that's just using mainly Ice phase (heavy CC oriented gameplay rather than DoT oriented gameplay). CC matches still heavily favor the team with a Black mage due to the ridiculous power scaling.

It's so ridiculous why Shukuchi received another nerf to Ninja's already heavily situational burst weaponskill that has a decent amount of caveats to play around. It's enough to make me think that there is a legitimate and big bias to Black Mage with how underwhelming the nerfs are and how Ninja - who was in a decent spot and only needed minor tweaks to making Shukuchi's stealth activate better - got blindsided with this nerf.

After actually playing MCH for a weekish in Frontlines, it could definitely use some help there. It's probably fine in CC, but in Frontlines it's a bit awkward.

Having your ult to snipe someone is amazing, and analyze drill is solid damage but some of the kit is awkward. Scattergun and Bioblaster have really, really short ranges on them. Scattergun is fine because you can afford to just use this whenever you get close up but Bioblaster is awkward because you can't simply fire it off at nothing in order to go from Bioblaster to Air Anchor(and then from Air Anchor to Chain Saw and Chain Saw back to Drill).

Also I think you'd find at this point people playing FL know better than to let their hp drop considering Ninjas can swoop in and instakill anyone under half health. You get four immediate self-heals available, a shield and a full heal that gives you enough MP for your self heals again. With how objective frontlines is, there's very little reason to play it risky.

I enjoy the fact that about half of the things on this list are directly tied to SE making more money. No wonder that stuff gets more attention huh.

I for one would love if developers kept personal bias well out of development.

Well by now I think it's clear that it's yushi's game. He do mostly what he or his friends want.rest is for show. Sadly not going to change as long as yoshi leads the game.

Ya'll know this is a business first, right? It's always gonna be about the money. No money no game. That being said, this whole idea of bias and some of these lists are just ridiculous. The whole BLM bias thing is especially funny (but also sad). On the flip side, some people want maybe a little too much for free. :p
