!! Fix Healer Rescue

On the other hand, isn't it just a pet peeve for a handful of - admittedly vocal - players?

If a toggle is added, I think that there's a risk people will stop using it since they won't know if it'll even work or not in the heat of the moment. Furthermore, at present it can already only be used on people within one's own party - you can always seek out your own trusted healers to do content with who promise not to use the ability on you.

Something that only stops a party member from interacting with you is such an unnecessary thing to have, and can be used for trolling just as much. I believe at least one EX or Savage fight strat involves Rescuing someone during a phase change or something? I'm not too familiar with it. If you don't want people in your Savage group that have Rescue off then kick them. Hell, they can even only make Rescue a toggle in DF if it's such a vital, 100%, absolutely can't be lived without feature in Savage fights (lol).

I also never said it was necessary; most changes people want in this game aren't necessary. It's a quality of life change for players, and a very simple one to implement. You ask why they should add it... I'll just turn that around and ask why not?

This point was already addressed; a debuff icon on the party list can tell you who has rescue turned off.

If you were playing a tank you SHOULD be using Arm's Length a lot because it's a defensive cooldown that applies a slow effect to anything hitting you.

The other game is World of Warcraft. Healers have an ability that's the same as Rescue and players can hold an item in their bag that makes that ability not work on them. The reason that World of Warcraft added this is because apparently players don't like being yanked out of position by random people in pugs. Who would've thought.

Sounds like a player is the problem, not the ability.

...which just puts further strain on the healer, really. It's already difficult to keep track of who has what buff/debuff - especially in large scale content where a lot of them are going off at the same time. Furthermore, in some cases a successful rescue can prevent the group as a whole from wiping. Some enemy abilities, after all, can cause multiple players to die if they're not performed correctly.

Taking up a bag slot to avoid an ability? Yeesh. Unfortunately I don't know how to find the specifics of this ability. Does the ability yank other players not on your team? Is it used for PVP? Does it have a cooldown? If I just had the ability name I could read up on it myself but unfortunately 'wow healer pull ability' doesn't bear fruit.

This is actually a rare situation where the problem is more about the ability than the player. Being repositioned in a game like this is almost always unwelcome, even if it's done with good intentions. It's a fun ability for Healers apparently, but not much fun for everyone else.

Maybe they could fix the way it works to make it less intrusive, but until that day I'd like an off switch.

I haven't played WoW in a while, and I don't feel like playing 100 questions with the ability and every little detail about how it works. Believe whatever you want.

Also, it's not a bag slot you just have to have it in a bag on your character. Bags have like 40 spots each; it's not a huge deal.

Well you're the one trying to tell us it works it'd be great if you knew what you were talking about or even just said the name of the ability.

It cannot use itself, a player must initiate the action in order for it to work.
