Stormblood = Nightmare for casual players

For those who are saying that moving is absolutely not an option due to friends, have you discussed the matter with your friends or FC? I hit my wits end last night with a 3 hour log in on Balmung, got in, told my FC I'd be in communication over VoIP and that I was leaving for Coeurl. I had one person who was going with me that I'd discussed it with earlier yesterday. By the end of the night, the FC leader had transferred leadership to someone who wished to stay and 1/3 to 1/2 of the FC had transferred or is planning to transfer by the end of the week. We now plan to launch a sister branch to our original FC on Coeurl and are all fairly excited about the adventure of working together to build it from the ground up which a lot of people never had the chance to experience.

There's a chance, and that chance will only grow as the login queues continue, that more people than you realize would be receptive to the idea.

Paid months ago to get off that overpopulated mess, and regret it zero. Have a house, can load in anywhere,barely ever a queue time, and with programs like discord can still play with my buddies on other servers if I want to. If the only thing keeping you on Balmung is the ERP. well its not like youre interested in doing the content anyway

They learned. Now you get a queue at all.

In earlier times you just got an error and were sent back to the title screen.

How is that a difference? Unless you're saying that Balmung is the only place that doesn't happen, it's not a difference at all. I'm pretty sure those are all commonplace on just about any server. Certainly they are on every one I've tried (Coeurl, Exodous, and briefly Jenova a while back). You rarely even have to ask. Especially with a new character, people will come up to you to ask if they can make you stuff. And there always seem to be people asking around if anyone needs help on any dungeons.

Transfer is not a solution. It's an alternative. Please learn the difference between the two words.

Came home early today to bypass long queue. had to wait 700 people. Was happy. Played an half an hour, started PotD. Got Server disconnect. Now queue is 1900....

I'm pretty sure you missed the entire point of the thread in spectacular fashion. OP is talking about queue times to LOG IN (which are based on server numbers,) not queue times for the DF (based on the data center.) You're the one making pointless arguments.

Just logged in, 2131 in queue. Yay.

I'm conflicted though, there'll be an emergency maintenance tomorrow between 8:00 and 12:00.

On one hand, emergency maintenance may help. On the other hand, it's precisely when the servers are actually available...

I wish they would make maintenances at times where it already takes 3 hours to log in anyway XD
