Good try, but not. DPS as healer is a option, not an obligation.

This thread will just run in circles, like a dog trying to catch it tail.
It really has become absolutely ridiculous. I think a large part of the problem is that people are too concerned with how others are playing and constantly worried that "omg I might be carrying someone, my fun is ruined." People are gonna play how they wanna play and they are only making themselves miserable if they are gonna get all worked up over healers not trying to be pseudo dps.
Hey, as healer I deal as much damage as I can, and as DPS I don't dodge non-lethal AoE if that means my damage will suffer (positionals, and I also heal myself).
If the Devs didn't want healers to DPS in dungeons they should've disabled Cleric Stance in dungeons. Then again, I doubt they ever expected this kind of situation to rise, and now they can't remove Cleric Stance in dungeons without causing a mass revolt. Even then I imagine there would be pressure on Healers to DPS in dungeons.
I get the impression that it isn't so much that they don't want healers to DPS in dungeons, its more like they didn't design the job to be dungeon DPS. They have even stated that content isn't adjusted with healer and tank DPS in mind. Frankly, if a healer wants to DPS and is still able to keep up the heals I have no issue with it. I think players shouldn't go into a dungeon situation with the expectation that the healers are going to be DPSing though. The healer role isn't designed around them being DPS and to expect them to be DPSing is a little elitist in my opinion. This is a game, it should be played and enjoyed in the way the player wishes to enjoy it. Despite what some people say I don't view a healer not DPSing being disrespectful to the group. Everyone is in such a hurry to get dungeons done that they expect healers to DPS to make the dungeon run quicker, frankly, who cares if it shaves 2 min off the run.
My "Point of view" is all combat Job's should, if able, follow a list of importance:
1st) The Boss/Fight's Mechanic's, this includes dodging dodgable AoE's
2nd) You're Job type based on the triad (Tank's hold arrgo, healers heal & DD do dmg)
3rd) You're Job's sub-skill (for tank's this is Def CD's & for healer/DD this is any debuff or CC skill that helps or AST's Card draw mechanic)
4th & last, Thou not nessesary) Any extra dmg you can squieze out that doesn't interfere with the 3 above
Thou personally I don't expect anyone to follow even that list 100% of the time cause everyones different (bad mood, sleepy, confidence, ego, pride, unfamiliarity, distracted, "straight up refusal", etc.). Also my view is that Tank/Healer's are not required to ever do my list's step 4, thou I do apreciate if they do... as long as doing it doesn't cause a wipe
Yall care too much about this.
Doing damage as a healer in a normal party setup will never be a requirement. It's also never going to be a universally common aspect of the entire, ENTIRE, community. No matter how much complaining and raging you do, it'll never happen. Accept it.
If you want your healers to DPS, play with healer friends who like to DPS. Don't have any? make some. Start a thread or a PF or something.
If you want to make sure you have a healer that DPS's 100% of the time you play, be that healer yourself.
