[dev1206] Class Reforms & Action Lists

I don't know why people are saying Pug is a magic user. They still are melee, but now you can use MP to do elemental dmg too. Also you can turn these abilities on/off, like defender. So if want to save mp, just turn it off.

Whose to say that these abilities will be required to play the class by any means. The fact that dps is increased by mp, just means that you have to be skilled at mp management. Also if you look at some of the thm con nukes, they are cross classable.

Which open the way for pug to use this skill:

THM Abl. 5 - Reduces MP cost of next attack magic spell by half, and restores MP when cast is complete.

All I'm saying is, before you start QQ, wait to try it out and be creative. You might be pleasantly surprised.

What was said before the list was released:
"When playing solo, you can stay CON with you elemental nukes, but we give you White mage in party play, so you won't nuke there but heal, buff and raise."
I was fine with that, because I love doing both in different situations.

But what the list is saying now is:
"We took away pretty much ALL your elemental skills, even though the elemental aspect is what defines the whole class, lore-wise, so you are nothing but a dumb healbot in party AND solo."

You still have elemental nukes. You lost no more than Thamaturge in the trade off, and you've no idea whether or not you NEED all the bells and whistles you're complaining you've lost in the exchange.

You're making a decision entirely by glancing over something on paper instead of seeing what the words actually mean.

I noticed, because I was desperately grasping for straws.
Have you noticed how big the difference in dmg output has become though since 1.19 when equipping skills which do not belong to the class you are in?
Also, no combo options with skills from other classes.
This is not helping at all.

Then the PGL use the other skill

WS 8: Melee attack. Chance to absorb MP when executed from the right or left of the target.Combo: PGL WS 5, Bonus: Chance to increase Absorb MP effect.

So many CONs need a tissue, because they are assuming things before reading in DETAIL.

They SPLIT the elements between the mages. CONs are aligned to elements that are more in tune with healing and enhancing, like Water, Wind, and Earth. Giving you some magic attacks, but mostly based off those 3 elements.
eg: Deals earth damage to the target. Chance to reduce evasion against earth magic. (So slow is more effective after this spell is cast)

THM on the other hand is based off destructive elements: Fire, Lightning, Ice
and their nukes apply effects as well: Deals lightning damage to target. Chance to inflict Stun.

Seems a bit of a mess but its really one of those situations that fits the expression: Time will tell.

Lets just hope its a good story.

If that battle is indicative of future content then most of LNC's current skills would have been useless anyway as we're not fight mobs that stand in a line and wait for a lancer to wipe their TP. Blindside + Doomspike II is the life of a LNC atm.

I do not believe he was calling it a nerf so much as a... stylistic difference in opinion. I personally agree. The hybrid DD-support role that LNC was originally imagined as was extremely appealing to me, and this current trend of making them pure DD is somewhat disheartening. That being said, there are plenty of things to like still. I have to say, PGL, for all of the fact that managing your MP may be difficult, sounds absolutely fascinating now.

Which brings me to
- No more Paralyze?
- No more Poison?
- No more Slow? (Excluding Pugs Triple Combo)

no Umbral/Dark thus no Dia?
no Astral/Light thus no Bio?

THM Mag. 9 is a type of Shock spikes or has that been removed too?

It feels very incomplete, there is only 9-11 skills per class, what happened to this 15 ? or was that including combo ones, forcing you to combo. And what the heck is up with 4 skills per job? Thats a bit low.

That ability is based on the use of a magic spell, PGL has magic based actions. From the way I read the list, this ability would only apply if I cast a magic spell, which I don't plan to be doing as a PGL.

I will see how it plays out once these changes go into effect - sometimes I am surprised at certain changes I didn't think I would like. However, I have not enjoyed any of the PGL changes so far. This latest change I find highly unappealing.
