Tanks That Hate Fluid Aura

1) Thank you for this thread it gave me a giggle on a boring day at work.

2) OP you are right you have every right to use all skills that SE gave you. But skills are situational and using them correctly is important. You are ignoring people asking you to do something different and then complaining that you get kicked. You do see the logical problem with that statement right? Fluid Aura is a danger button to save people. It was never meant to be a straight out DPS move. It does mess with hate generation and can make some tanks freak a bit (especially new ones that you are probably getting since you are doing Tam Tam). You do have a right to play the way you want but if the other three don't like it they have a right to kick you. It isn't harassment.

Yeah... skills are situational. I mean think of it this way: Would you cast Sleep on a monster you are fighting? Would you hit a monster you are not fighting? Would you use a stun move on a monster that's not doing anything you need to stun? Would you cast Cure on a player that's not hurt?

I have zero problems with a WHM/CNJ using Fluid Aura on a target that I lost hate on because shame on me. If used any other time is just purely obnoxious. Melee range is incredibly small. If you're using it just to do damage, you have no idea where I am in my rotation and now you just knocked a mob out of my range. That being said, I also don't care if it's used during a boss fight because it won't move the target and that's extra dps.

My WHM is also low level, but I can count the times I've used Fluid Aura in a dungeon on something other than a boss immune to knockback and bind. I've done it once to push an add and bind it right next to the tank in Haukke Manor and one other time during Tam-Tara when about a million weak adds are chasing the tank I used Aero->Fluid Aura on one of them so he was taking less damage for me to heal. The mob was already damaged so it actually died from the Fluid Aura and DoT before he made it back to the tank.

Otherwise I never use it and don't have a keybind for it.

Well if its the MAIN target usually marked by #1 it will be normally for a tank to move toward it because thats the enemy we should be attacking and we are melee not range characters. DPS mostly wont complain because SMN, BRD, BLm can still atk them no problem, only DRG or MNKs might have to move if you have any in your party.

As a tank I dont mind the use of Aura Fluid but I guess its better to be use for certain situations specially those when the own WHM life its at risk, but it can be annoying so I understand why people could get mad, specially if you have like 10-12 mobs on you (like in those Speed runs) because moving can be hard and painful with all those enemies hitting the tank.

Its frustrating and when I first started out I'd run after the mob thinking I screwed up on grabbing everything which ended up causing more chaos and frustration for the rest of the party.

Don't do it unless you're in danger of getting hit. But if you're in danger of getting hit then I clearly am not doing my job right.

Oh by the way Arcanists, you don't have to get right up in the enemy's business. Feel free to hang out waaaaay in the back so carbuncle isn't knocking everything back. I make the effort not to do that when I play mine. Also, steady is your friend in Satasha.

Leveling my PLD I had many WHM use it in combination with sleep. It confuses the hell out of me but i realize whats going on and i am just like, oh well less damage i take i guess. I dont think its a bad thing if you use it, but just make sure the tank is ok with it i guess since apparently there are a lot of little babies who cant handle it.

As a WAR Main, MNK and WHM.

As a WHM I only use it if the mob attacking me.
The 2nd boss in WP if it targets me.

As a Tank, I don't see WHM use it when it could save there lives.

Fluid Aura or Garuda's knockback don't give me the impression I lost hate, not at all, however, it is annoying if that mob happens to be my target or the mob is knocked out of Flash/Overpower/Stee Cyclone, unsurprisingly, these knockbacks are typically used when I'm about to do AoE. Yes, you are annoying the tanks by knocking mobs back if there was no immediate danger whatever.

WP 2nd boss, I usually wait for it to use Fire when it targets someone, then Holmgang it.

Wow! just wow. What a d-bag attitude you have there.

And why would you even use it other than being Flashy or w/e?

The only situation where it comes handy is when the tank loses hate on the target for a moment.
