On another topic, I suggested that Off-Guard would apply a proper element weakness to the target allowing you and your teammates to benefit from it. Since Eurka already covers lots of monster types, I don't think it would be that difficult to apply to all monsters an innate element and the corresponding weakness. And it would make low manning not a full-BLU activity.

Ultimately. I feel this is a beta test. It feels exactly like they are trying something with blu and are waiting to see the data they get back. Going forward I seal them adopting the system mentioned here where if you have set these 24 abilities you can use the duty roulette.

ive had thought that this is just a joke or test and they release blue mage as a real DPS in ShB
while this blue mage is just sand box side content that upgrades every so often

This argument fell flat the second we discovered that job quests were locked behind learning specific abilities, 2 of which required entering instances. BLU not having abilities is literally no different than someone queueing without job crystals, their ARR/HW/70 job quests completed, or adequate gear.

Except that, again, BLU have to chose their spells, while other jobs have all their skills equipped. Like I said numerous times on numerous topics, if all the jobs could only equip some of their job skills, you'd have drama everywhere because tanks would refuse to equip their tank stance or DPS refusing to equip their enmity tool or party buffs because they only care about their personal DPS. And also that every other job has it skills tied to its level, so two synced characters are the same, whatever their real level is. BLU doesn't work that way.

So, it's in fact literally completely different.

Not that different. Plenty of tanks already refuse to use tank stance, plenty of DPS already refuse to manage enmity. Functionally there isn't much difference between someone not equipping skills and someone just not using them, and there is plenty of the latter in DF already.

Ok, you really should dig deeper into the definition of "same". Because not having the skill unlocked, equipped, or set on hotbar, are three separate things.

No, there is a big difference between not using a skill you have and not having the skill. Like I said, you can't blame a lvl30 BLU for not using Eruption, even if a synced lvl 50 BLU would have it learned and would use it.

Or maybe you should just accept that regardless of having to set abilities or not, being locked out of DF in their current state is laughable.

Any BLU choosing to not equip skills has every right to be kicked from a duty, no different to kicking someone for playing bad and not using half their kit.

they could make doing all the current story quests the requirement to unlock df as for it a Blu would have:
Water Cannon, Faze, 1k needles, Mind Blast, Glower, Blood drain
Have finished masked carnivale challenge 25 which has adapting to boss buffs, better aoe dodging then Novice Network (it might be possible with just above skills as 1k is physical so i'll assume yes till proven no)
