Its reset day and need that commendation challenge log xp
Just now I did trials roulette and ended up in Lakshmi normal. A significant portion of the party was new to the fight. We had two WHMs healing, one of them was new.
On our first attempt, we ended up wiping. The not new WHM accuses the new WHM of dying on purpose and not wanting to do the fight. New WHM apologized and said she was still learning.
So we try again and we wiped a second time. The not new WHM issues a vote abandon, which failed. Then he ran off the edge and sat there waiting to be kicked.
We kicked him and got an AST healer. We cleared it without any issues on the third attempt.
I feel bad for new players who have to put up with people like that toxic WHM :(
Funny thing is, as WHM you can solo heal that, so even if a newer player or even an older player can't perform, there's no reason for that other player to start mouthing off. With the mp abilities whm's have, even 8 deaths in a row, isn't big of a deal if planned correctly. As AST that would be a bit different since I've noticed myself, without ewer and just counting on the mp role skill, this can make you struggle real bad. I yet have to understand why some WHM's are constantly complaining or forcing others to "heal", making up the excuse that whm is horrible in 4.x, maybe it's just me but I am having a blast playing whm and in most regular trials, I encourage the 2nd healer to just dps. I am overhealing already as it is, why would we need 2 healers overhealing even more lol
A bit of advice, just think, "what if instead of a Stone IV I used Holy instead?" Largesse, Cure II on tank (for the sake of topping them off +lily) and regen, turn on Thin Air and cast Holy in the pack of mobs. While they're stunned, cast Aero III, then another two Holy before a 3rd, swiftcasted Holy. That's a lot of free AoE damage you dealt at no sacrifice to the tank's health since he started off at 100% and a largesse+regen is quite potent for when the mobs come off stun. And then largesse should still have a few seconds left so refresh that buffed regen timer on the tank and you hardly need to cast another Cure as you pick off the remaining mobs with Stone IV. It's def something that needs to be gotten used to if you plan to use it with PUGs but practicing it with fc mates is worth the while
Speaking of solo healing Lakshmi as a WHM...
Went into Trial Roulette, me WHM and bf as WAR. He was excited to try out all the sparkly new WAR changes and I thought 100% proc rate on Cure lillies sounded cool.
My SCH cohealer threw up protect right away and I always like when they're on the ball. MT PLD even had a countdown to his pull. I was ready to do some DPS (since I've heard about SCH MP issues with Broil) and we got into the adds.
I look over and the SCH is just standing there. I can't focus on whether or not she is experiencing lag because the tanks (one of which is my boyfriend) are both in DPS stance and dropping like flies. I get everyone where they need to be HP wise but I am hesitant to really DPS without a cohealer.
They are killing her plenty fast on their own anyways, as we move into her ultimate rather than pop her Vril (or even just stand there because she is actually DC'ing) the SCH waves at me then eats the attack and dies.
I have too much to focus on to even say anything in party chat and no SMN or RDM to raise her. PLD MT is taking damage like crazy still and I see he's still in Sword Oath but I can't type anything quick enough to get him to switch so I have my boyfriend do it.
The tank doesn't switch so my boyfriend does and fights him for aggro which eventually works but the PLD is still using his enmity combo mostly, not sure why, and only casts 1 Clememcy the whole fight that I noticed.
Miraculously we did not wipe even though there were some hairy moments. I think when people realize they only have one healer they are at least nice enough to not throw their AoE puddles on top of said healer. Or maybe it was because I was the only ranged player and they were all melee.
I don't know but I sure am proud at the end... Then I remember it. Her. Ugh.
I go to give her a piece of my mind and she is already running towards the exit. Gone before I can even get myself in trouble for saying mean things to her.
I did get 6 commendations though, and since my boyfriend couldn't give me one since we entered as a party that means my "cohealer" did.
I don't know if that makes me more angry or not.
Queue up for feast. I'm on my DRK. And the rest are DPS. I think to myself, maybe we can focus and not ned healers. One of the DPS yells: Attacking Healer and marks the WHM. I yoink her into our group and stun her. The rest of the team however were poking the enemy PLD and SAM. Even when those only had like two coins, they always chase them. Ignoring the WHM with a giant 1 over her head.
Queue up again. Again no healers. We have WAR so I switch to SCH. Enemy team won't let me breath. And I have no idea what my team was doing, but it wasn't helping.
So did trial roulette this morning, got susano Normal on Ast. NO noob bonus
The party did very well except the 29k hp paladin that decided to MT and was requiring babysitting by me and a co-healer. Until the blade phase...
The blade shadow poped up and the tanks literal ran around it while the party was telling them to click it. At the last moment I said screw it and clicked it. Barely survived but I knew my co-healer couldn't keep me up a second time..... and NO ONE clicked on the stupid thing.
After dieing both tanks just left without saying a word................
Did a V2.0 normal yesterday on my NIN and WAR did warn that he was new.
Did tell him my standard "do enjoy" and the DRK proceeds to pull a couple seconds after.
This fight can be solo tanked so the OT being new has little impact on it. Except that at the tentacles the DRK forgot to move out of the only one that remained dangerous and died right there.
Next one in aggro? Me, yep. I had to tank it a couple seconds and threw my aggro onto the WAR, then I realize he is 4th on aggro so most likely he wouldn't make it in time with just my Shadewalker without him provoking... which he did not. So I ate the buster and died right there.
Then the boss skipped to the next target, which was not the WAR, but the other NIN in the party. who kept the aggro for a good 3~4 mins before another buster came and killed him too. By this time the DRK of course was already up and me too, but did any of the 2 Tanks ever provoke the boss back on them? Nope.
2nd NIN died and then it went onto the next target, which, again, was neither of the tanks, but the BLM...
DRK did no attempt to provoke until this point, not sure if he even tried to, did he wait for weakness to fall off or they simply had not provoke in their role class skills listed up, but it was not until about 30 seconds of BLM tanking that he took it back.
Fight ended in our victory (somehow) and of course I just couldn't help typing one sentence "You may be new, but you are still a Tank", I don't mean to flame on him for not knowing mechanics, but for not jumping onto Tanking when his party needed him the most.
His answer? "I'm sorry for not knowing what I was doing" ... that... that didn't even deserve a retort :/
Just threw my comm on one of the healers for keeping 6 DPS alive through that :/
Went into Deltascape 4 as BLM. It seems that all 3 of the other DPS, and the SCH, was new. Well, fine by me, it's not that difficult. I cleared it on my first try, as BLM, going in blind.
I should've known. I really should've. No matter how low your expectations get, they can always get lower. 30+ minutes later, we vote abandoned.
We wiped 4 times, at the very least. The PLD couldn't seem to manage the concept of a tank swap, leaving the DRK to fry. The WHM might have been fine if they hadn't kept dying, but this SCH. Oh, this SCH.
I seriously wondered if they weren't a DPS main who had queued as a healer for quick queues. Even after seeing every mechanic Exdeath had to offer, they couldn't be bothered to manage half of it. They prioritised hardcasting Resurrection on the dead WHM, over keeping any of us, or the tanks, alive. Even now, hours later, I'm still staring at the wall, wondering how anyone can get to this raid and still be this stupid.
After vote abandoning, I queued again as SCH, just to see how difficult it is to heal that fight. Turns out, not at all, even if your co-healer goes down and Swiftcast is on cooldown, you can just, wait for it... solo-heal and keep the party alive until it's off cooldown. I left with my shaft and 3 comms. And that's the story of my first ever time healing Deltascape 4.
