Glad SE has gained a free employee. I prefer to get paid for working though.

I wish all these things were in the game so people didn't have to use mods to do this.
My guess is that they don't allow it or add stuff lightly due to things like legal agreements about 3rd party software and the fact that the game engine and servers are so fragile they don't know what might cause problems, like how fishing the wrong spot can crash the entire server.
Sad but true
Was on a discord call with a friend. Player used mods, my character was half naked. Player was able to "undress my character" Was not a funny experience. Players do this with others characters and take screenshots of them. I felt really uncomfortable with this and I had to log out before any screenshots was taken. I told the player that this is not okay.
This game really need a cheat engine. Preferable a really good one. All online games need this. Cant just hope that players wont use mods and cheats.
Zepla Furious about Blatant Cheating in FFXIV
really need a cheat engine.
Way to necro.
mods that cheat is a big no no but there are some add ons out there that make the game better like decoration. I hate how limited decorating is so vanilla and confined without trying to do glitches
Honestly, the very few texture mods I have used at one point or another, if they made them available on the mog I'd gladly have stopped using them. And texture mods [primarily hair/HD skin mods] are all I have used. I don't touch the "make untelegraphed aoes visible" crap. That should get you banned.
It's people with your attitude that make this game ruined with third party tools. This translates into end game content, which is so toxic you're lucky to find a "TOS friendly" clear even on youtube. I had to take a break for a while from this game because the third party people such as yourself are everywhere and obnoxious.
The tools aren't evil in and of themselves, its completely dependent on the personal conduct of the user. Not to mention some of these "tools" are "free" - you have to ask yourself what information you're giving to some third party to run them. I'd say Square Enix has your best interest in mind in regards to that. Also - its not a grey area - its a full blown TOS violation regardless of platform, and yes it does make it unfair for those who play by the rules.
Yoshida has literally said parsers are a grey area because he knows how much the high-end raid community values them. He may not like them but in a game entirely centered around DPS, they're not going anywhere. The raid scene as a whole would die overnight if all these third party programs were banned and the dev team is well aware of that. Hence why they do nothing about them unless it's made blatantly obvious.
People are talking about the poses being harmless but the reason some of those poses are limited to certain circumstances is to prevent people from being degenerates out in public.
you type /groundsit to sit anywhere LOL
its not a cheat
You're right - he does - and he makes it publicly available here to contradict your very statement: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...0c5d56cb2e4547
"As stated in the terms of service for FINAL FANTASY XIV: the use of third-party tools is strictly prohibited. Players who are determined to be using third-party tools will have their accounts suspended, or permanently banned for repeat offenses."
In the same article: "Indeed, we've only released duties that we have proven can be beaten with the game's standard features."
I hope this clears up things for you, and your perception that this is somehow a "grey area".
Here are some more easy pills to swallow from the same article I linked earlier (per Yoshi)
Use of tools that allow players to more easily complete content.
Modification of the UI to display additional information.*
Use of packet spoofing tools.
Any actions or public statements that promote use of third-party tools.
Do you have any further input about the grey area? When i read it, its pretty black and white.
Evidently, you do. This queue doesn't address what I said. Their official stance is not to use third party programs yet they openly acknowledge it's a grey area due to their value and unwillingness to police what we install. The whole point of a grey area is even if something is technically against the rules, said rules will not necessarily enforced unless it becomes a problem.
Yoshida spells this out here.
On the subject on clearing content. I never said people required third party programs to clear content. What I said is the raid scene as a whole would die off because people want to use them. FFlogs literally keeps Savage relevant since there's no reason to even bother with the content unless an Ultimate exists. There are so many basic quality of life plugins a good chunk of players would quit the game on the whole if those were banned. Nevermind the mod community, which is massive nowadays. To give you a perspective on just how prevalent these programs are, the estimated amount of active players using them is over 300k.
Yoshida and the dev team are well aware of just how ubiquitous these programs have become and the impact it would have if they were ever banned. It wouldn't be profitable. Hence why they don't enforce the ToS unless players are harassing others.
I'm just going to drop this here

Release /chairsit emote? Yes. Make it so files can't be modified or start scanning user PC acitivity? No. Anti-cheat should be limited to PvP and PVE things. Don't be a virtual Karen, get the game on PC if you want to mod just like almost every other game in existence requires.
People sitting around or modifying outfits aren't hurting you, aren't affecting you in any way. Many of their mods are things that Square themselves were supposed to fix or add, like hats for Hrothgar or Viera. Come on, man.
Disingenuous the thread.
Yea it might look harmless but it's injecting code and manipulating game code as shown on the YouTube videos earlier.
