glacial boots dyed halatali yellow work also gives gold rating for ppl looking for other boots
The dyes are never referenced and never make sense. People just spend tries looking for the right 'family' (i.e., browns) and then try to narrow it down.
But then again, it doesn't make sense that only ONE shiva weapon gets gold, so... pretty much, the game is a crapshoot.
Got a 90 with caster!

Weapon - Rose pink - Augmented Hailstorm Grimoire
Head- Snow White - Bunny ears
Chest- Soot black - Adventurer's scion
Gloves - Loam Brown - Ala Mhigan Fingerless Gloves of Casting
Boots - Halatali Yellow - Cashmere boots
Bracelet - shiva healer bracelet
Glad I have everything leveled and use all the shiva weapons for glamour already.
I do want to echo that using the rare dyes is stupid, and the color combos look AWFUL...
Now I just hope the spring set is not locked behind getting 100 multiple times cause this is such an awful gil sink if you can't make the stuff.
Had a friend make my boots for me, but the dyes were still expensive.
Wouldn't mind if it was one rare here or there but If I recall jet black and pure white have been used twice now.
That's incorrect. The DRG Shiva weapon only gives three stars, it has no Hailstorm Eikonic gear. The objective is to get gold without dye if you want 100, and right now the only way to get 100 is with SAM's Shiva katana.
I don't believe the Eikonic gear gives gold without being dyed rose pink, so I don't think it's possible to get 100 with it.
Alternatively, even if you have MNK leveled, which can wear the same outfit except the weapon, you can't get 100 because the Shiva MNK fists don't work.
It's a really silly system. But I suppose for those of us that level everything we're in a good boat.
It seemed so certain it was any dyeable Eikonic weapon, with the glacier set and a Shiva bracelet...what gives. ;_;
Does any of that give gold?
Two thumbs down for Fashion Report devs. Idc what anyone says.
What if I dye the pants another blue? Can I still get over 80? I'm not buying a metallic from either the mog station or the MB.
I received Gold for the weapon using the Augmented Hailstorm Cane, dyed Rose Pink.
I used all my attempts to find pants beyond the known pair that would at least give a gold coin, I did not find any ... I may have not tried overly hard .. just used different ones from the glamour closet for each attempt since I have no SAM knew 100% was out of the question. But got over 80 each try so good enough for me! (That was always with a different shiva diamond weapon as well and no gold stars there either)
Shiva bracelet guess was 100% correct and was best in slot. Eikonic (Shiva inspired only) weapon dyed rose pink gave gold. The big losers were the upgraded Shiva weapons that *weren't* a katana.
Since the entire thing is opaque, any incorrect guesses are on the community, not the devs. (And the localization teams for giving such vague clues.)

Quite happy with this for 83 :)
I was able to 81 points in part by just dying whatever I already had with all vendor/crafted dyes.

-any weapon- rose pink
-any hat - snow white
-Adventurer's scion - soot black
-any gloves - Loam Brown
-any pants - ice blue
-Highland boots -Halatali Yellow
-bracelet - True Ice Bracelet
This should work on any job. Still need to do Shiva EX at least once for the bracelet, but you do not need to farm it a weapon that you can use. The blue fox hide to make the highlander boots can be bought with a voidrake and there's still time to grow a voidrake in a flowerpot. It only takes a day. Alternatively, you can drop the highlander boots and use any boots dyed Halatali yellow, but then you must use Shiva's diamond weapon to make up the lost of points on the boots to still reach 80 points.
The Glacial Boots dyed Halatali Yellow is also gold.
I tried Highhouse Bottoms and Scion's Bottoms dyed both Ice Blue and Sky Blue. They were still two stars.
Big upsets here. My initial score was quite low with the items I posted previously. 67 I think. The fact that neither the sky pirate/sky rat bottoms give anything more than a 1 or 2 stars is just ridiculous, as is the low score on the werewolf boots. That are made entirely of fur.
The clues are awful. However the real challenge is making the ridiculous outfits some how look good or at least into something that doesn't look like it was put together by a color blind toddler. Masked Rose, your fashion sense is Le Pew!
More than this, I think is because there is only one piece of gear that gives full points on a hinted slot, so if the weapon is hinted is going to be a specific job. Hailstorm dyed might be gold but I bet they don't give full points, probably because there is no correct dye this week for weapon, since the katana is not dyeable. This is the first week the weapon slot has a hint, so it seemed odd at the beginning, but I'm quite sure that's how it works.
Having already gotten 50k end 10k MGP, I tried stuffs.
So.

The Yokai Staff of the Snow Maiden does not work.
Unfortunately the first week that I failed. Just couldn't get the weapon and pants right. I had the legs down, and tried several times to get the SAM weapon from Shiva, but it just wouldn't drop, so I went with the Augmented Hailstorm Cane dyed pink on my final try, which meant I had to change pants as the ones I was using couldn't be equipped by WHM. I dyed the Kudzu skirt ice blue and tried for the last time. Got a 79. That was with a gold on feet, bracelet, weapon and body, but I only got 2 stars for the legs. That was enough to drag it down 1 point too low.
I think, unless BiS is something it turns out I already have or can easily acquire, I'm not going to bother with this anymore. It's just taking time away from other things, and making me frustrated and angry, and I don't like playing angry. I'll just talk to him in whatever I have on me, take the 10K and go.
Part of me wants to do this too but people are theorizing that in order to get more stuff in the shop next to him, you need to get a high enough score each week (people who scored lowly in the first two weeks haven't unlocked the new items in the shop yet). Some think it might be adding your each weeks score together to unlock the new shop items.
I've just been walking up with one character and getting judged with whatever they have on (all 1 star stuff and rose is not happy with me). Skipped one week on that character, just did it and unlocked all the goods from last week, so it seems to be participation based from my own observations.
Has anyone tried the diamond rapier? I got the drop for it, and I will try it out, if no one else has. i just wanted to check first, since I could see RDM being in the same boat as SAM.
Edit: Doesn't work as well, similar to other jobs
But you got at least 50 points each time right? There are from people who got less than 50 for the first two weeks did not unlock the Maquillage, etc in the second week. And then there are few who said they did the fashion report for the first time ever and got a 100, unlocked the item in just their first week. That implies the first set of items need 100 point total to unlock.
I'm hoping the Leonhart Jacket works, because I don't have the Scion Adventurer's Jacket that nearly everyone is using this week. And I still haven't seen anything that works for caster pants. Seems like they made that one just a bit too narrow.
I'm more curious how this is working on the back end. Can't imagine there's any devs putting time into this every week to set up the specific perfect set and/or gear better than 1 star. Would guess that the dyes might probably just be randomly picked, but even that could be reduced to a limited pool based on the prompts.
I'm going to guess that the prompts themselves have a limited pool of items that apply, and game randomly picks one as the "perfect." Although, randomly picking like that could cause trouble if it doesn't check for role restriction conflicts.
There's probably always going to be one specific class/job each week. Sure, there might be plenty of broad role gear, but seems like there's always something to narrow it down. Maybe even the game starts with picking the winning job, and picking gear out of the pool accordingly.
What I mean is to unlock those items you need a total of 100 points (taking the sum of your high score over all weeks). You can get 100 points all in one week and unlock the items, or you could spread it out over a couple weeks. You could get 52 in first week, and get 52 again on the second week, that would also put you at 104 total, so you would unlock those in the second week
If this is really how it works, spring set would unlock the same way, but at some higher accumulative score. I would guess at least 400.
About 2 million gil for the Cashemere Boots on my server and 75 clears for Shiva's Diamond Sword, I hope it's a one time achievement and whatever it could unlock in Kasumi's Boutique!...

I already got my 100. I'm just shooting for 80+ from here on out. It's too damn expensive to play this game! Nothing good has shown up on the boutique anyways. Looks like housing fluff I give no fux about!
Tried out the Valkyrie's Trousers (of casting) and they only give 1 star.
Sailor Brais dyed ice blue gave 2 so those legs were a no go as well.
Tried some other stuff like the crescent moon slippers and mog slippers and sea breeze summer halter (too cold/cool for winter you know :P) and some other ordinary things I had but all was 1 star
Someone on Reddit tried the Moogle Legs from the Mogstation and got 4 Stars, for anyone still trying out stuff.

I just went in with my normal summoner glamour to get some quick mgp before the reset, and it kind of worries me that my anima lux still got some points? Like I really hope it's because it was dyed and not because of a "this has an assigned rank too because we're going to make fully awakened relics something you need later" kind of situation. If that makes sense?
You get some points just for having anything equipped. So this is probly a case of "lux does not equal nothing". And besides that, even if a full anima(or zodiac) is the exact weapon they want one week, you can still hit 80+ for the bonus MGP without having the right piece in every slot. So far it seems like getting 100 is just for the achievement and title, so you only need to do so once. You can wait for a week where you already have(or are close to) the hardest part of the perfect score and make that the week to focus on. Last week i had everything for the fishing outfit aside from the correct rod, so 2 hours of work later i got my 100. This week i didnt even have SAM unlocked, so i just looked for the cheapest 80 i could muster. We'll see what next week brings.
Ah I see. I thought the spool pointing more up meant that it got more on top of there being multiple star ratings and gold which doesn't change. I haven't been following all of the details of this too closely though, especially this week I got put in charge of redecorating my fc house on top of moving irl and I had barely any time to mess with anything because of that.
Thank you guys for explaining.
