Now the real question will is, will EU/AUS get a promotion for the outfit in 2 months or will we get it next year?
According to SE Press: http://press.na.square-enix.com/rele...y-xiv-patch-33
"...from June 14 through June 27. With a qualifying purchase of $19.99 (tax not included) or more from the Videogames Department of Amazon.com"
Videogames Department
It seems like anything from Amazon's Videogames Department of $19.99 or more will be qualified for the code.
Now my question is: "...digital code to unlock exclusive in-game items including an original Fat Chocobo mount, Maid and Butler attire, a Titan-themed Crag mask, an Ifrit-themed Inferno mask, and a set of 99 Magicked Prism wings"
Original Fat Chocobo (Yellow ones)!?
Hopefully I am wrong and it's White Fat Chocobo...
Yeah, the original is the white one.
I'm hoping I can just get a game time card and it'll give the items.
So the event ends on the 27th...star ocean is released on the 28th...will pre ordering/paying for star ocean count for this?
Can you buy like 2 or 3 things to get to 19.99 ? or does it have to be 1 thing that is 19.99 or more?
It just says qualifying purchase, which is the same terminology they use for free shipping cost minimums and Add-On items. At this time, given there's been no other indication to say otherwise, I'm going to say it's a safe bet that you can treat it like their add-on items. To qualify, you just need to have a totaled purchase amount to 19.99 (pre-tax) or more.
In other words, it does not matter quantity wise. You could buy a single $20 item or buy twenty $1 items from the video games department.
I honestly hope purchasing a time card will count towards it. I really don't have anything else I want to buy
I personally dont see why it's only the video game department. I mean it makes sense i guess, but the 7-11 event didnt involve games they could buy virtually anything to get a code. I mean Japanese 7-11's are great, lucky me has first hand experience, XD, but they never had video games. I'm not sure what i would buy if i wanted it anyway? Unless they have a carbuncle plushy, maybe.
Do we know if it's ABSOLUTELY from amazon.com or does amazon.ca work? Last time I checked Canada was in North America but you never know >_>
Will they make it to mogstTion at some point?
I'm gonna guess...yes. Most of the "exclusive" things since 2.0 have made it to the cash shop. So far the only think that's not there yet is the dragon quest and ff11 crossover items.
I doubt they'll miss an opportunity to make money, 5-15 bucks for something like this is practically shaking a money tree and AOE auto-loot.
Has Square made any official post about this ? Because all I see are things others are saying
my question is how does this help ppl who... lets say "don't" have a credit card, like those using time cards for FF14 or having a friend/parent paying their sub (but said friend/parent still needs them to use mogstore cause of not having info, as its breach of ToS)
just asking I mean I want the maid set just so I can pull of a Virgo cosplay with my avi but won't be able to get if off any other site than Mogstation (ie: Cash shop) or in-game... if this will be the only way for a NA player to get them then I quess I'll just have to live without, I'll be said about it yes but I'll live.
The WORST case scenario, you can just buy a digital game from Amazon.com, you'll need an US billing address but it can be ANY address as long as it's US. I've done this before, but I used my amazon credit card, can't say for sure if it'll work with another credit card.
So we're less than 12 hours away from the start of this promotion, presumably, and still don't have the "details" they promised us last week. Would be nice to know more about conditions and whether or not I should start browsing the .com site for things I can buy or ship.
I'm wondering when they're going to give the official announcement too. It's so much like the JP promotion, just this sudden thing that there's a huge regional promotion going on with all kinds of region-locked items and no more than a "we're working on it" for the other regions. It would be nice to have a few more details on who will be eligible and how they're working on getting it to everyone, even if it's just a "yes it will be available for canada too" or "we're working on making sure it's accessible to Australians." The surprise element is gone by now, and it wasn't initially all that great of a surprise for those with non-JP accounts anyway.
I am glad they went with an online retailer for the NA promotion though, and I hope they do the same for EU. There's really no other way to get the items to everyone outside of the cash shop.
I hope I'm not the only one checking lodestone every hour to see if there's updates lol. I won't be sleeping until I get my hands on this outfit! That being said, I hope I won't have to spend an entire night checking- or worse, spend an entire night checking and the promo doesn't go live until the afternoon.
So it seems reddit already has some information but there is one thing I hope a community manager can clarify for me. I read that if you try to order something using the same credit card/shipping address for more than one order you will be denied a code. My husband and I both play the game, obviously we live together, have separate SE accounts but share the same credit card. Are you telling me that only one of us can get the code?
You know..I didnt even think of that, lol thanks. I saw a few people on reddit saying that there's quite a few situations that rule would kinda mess with people. A friend of mine though sent me a picture of someone from Amazon support saying its ok to do more than one order with the same card so I dont know who to believe, was hoping SE would've announced it themselves by now.
How about just stop with promotions that are region specific and just make everyone who has an account eligible, regardless of where they live eh?
Guess I'll just go ahead an pre-order FFXV for my SO and I and at least get him the items since he has an NA account. Since I'm region locked out of the items (hey fellow EU players), guess I'll sell them on ebay or something and make some money.
Man it really sucks being locked out of every contest/event, promotions, having to hunt for retailers for expansions, etc. having an EU account and living in NA. But regardless, thanks SE! Simply love it.
