Hello, just started playing as a BLM recently, haven't reached the new skills yet. I've been reading your guide Aikaal, and it helps a lot, for example, I've been using swiftcast on fire III as opener to shorten the time spent by ~3 seconds to get astral III, and that will change when I have flare.

My question after reading your guide on the rotation part is, is it still better to use fire IV on enochian rather than *hope you get lucky* fire I with firestarter proc? And use blizz IV to refresh the duration in-between and fill MP. Or do I keep using tier IV spells while on enochian and only use the lesser to refresh astral/umbral like stated?

When I looked at the stat charts it showed male and female as having seperate stats, But only for Ah Ra for some reason. The page could be wrong though.

Aikaal, is there a minimum spellspeed for your rotation? I'm at around 640 right now and there's not really any wiggle room. I'm also having trouble understanding when to use Thunder/Thundercloud

Your goal is to get the maximum number of F4 casts inside each rotation, which would be four in normal circumstances. 2xF4 - F1 - 2xF4 is the normal rotation you should keep in mind while practicing. It's also possible to do F4 - F1 - 3xF4, if needed. The knowledge when to use all those small variations or when to cut or not to cut your rotation short comes with practice and experience.

This got me thinking, though. Firestarter proc under AF3 and Eno is 181,44 PPS and F4 is 176,4. In the few situations when you have FS up but not the time to use it before Eno refresh, would it be worth it to use FS instead of F4?

There isn't one, but the combination of maintaining two independent timers makes it very strict by nature. Extra SS will help for sure, but you're gonna need a ton of it to fit in anything extra.

TC in ice would be the best scenario, but you can swap one F4 out for one, if the dot doesn't get clipped too much.

About 500(?) for 1 and 2, and 530 for 3. It's quite low.

a1s no misses with 496 acc
a2s no misses with 510 acc
a3s <wip>

Fire IV is always better than the hope of getting a proc. There is also an update for the Swiftcast. You can use it for the first F3 but it's not required.

There is not but you'll have issue if you have latency.

Actually am getting better on my timing now meaning i guess 100% uptime and enochian is still up by the time it comes off of cd

I am aiming on getting eso chest now that i have my weapon.
Have been trying out HQ Sohm Al tarts and creme Brule (NQ) but for the cost of Creme Brule i think HQ Soml Al tarts will do
I know i have been getting FS procs after i am in Umbral ice and Ice IV, so probably a dps loss if using Firestarter instead of just like F1 but i can cast a FireIV right away as opposed to having the cast times of Fire1 or F3. Thoughts?
I am still playing with slightly different rotations and such however until i find the perfect rotation :)

You are overcap at 583 actually.

Go for Ring week 4 and chest week 5.

I use Sohm Al Tarts also so.

I find it a bit wierd that acc req is so low in savage (in a good way :p), i went with eso chest week 2 and ring week 3 that i upgraded to i210 instead of weapon because of this. (getting weapon w5).
The differance between casters and melee dps acc req seems much higher now than in 2.x, especially since most fights more or less forces them to attack from the front in one way or another, a bad timed miss in a1 can result in a wipe if you're not careful.
Is the acc requirement known for a4? i've yet to set foot there myself.

As for food i use Sohm Al Tarts aswell, Creme Brule is to expensive and i cant get my acc down enough to use Marron Glace instead.

No problem :D

Regardless of your path, you should have Weapon, chest, ring at week 5. Going for Chest + Ring before weapon does allow you to be flexible for both SMN and BLM.

A3S - Week 4

It wasn't the best run. My perfect run got sabotaged I was at 1250 near the end. Considering no Dragoon, it can't be helped but I can't really complain on my Monk DPS.

I'm also a loot whore. I'm literally iLevel 202. I don't know what's happening I've never got such luck. I have everything from A1S and A2S except the gloves lol.

when i see potion in some of these rotations what kind of potions are we using?

Draconian Potion, the best one. I use X-pots on progression I didnt see the enrage.

had a feeling. saw the same in dragoon thread (my main) what does it do?

Draconian Potion? Only the best potion in the game when it's HQ. 105 INT/STR vs 84 for X-Potions HQ.

Learned A1 and A2 on Summoner, switched to BLM because I enjoy it more. Having issues optimizing my dps...usually around late 800-900 on A1. When should I be popping/saving enochian? Do I keep it going through the adds, do you fire4 the adds? ( was terrified of this). How/when do you manage to keep both dotted? I can't seem to find the time unless I get a proc at the right times.

For A2 it seems like I'm doing more single target focus starting at the wave with 4 dolls onward. Is this normal or should I be full AoE?

Do you start casting fire of right away? Is there much risk of the add getting deleted before getting to the laser if stuff crits?

Fire I - Fire IV are casted right away. I usualy wait half a second to swift fire IV so it can get to me.
I should've mentioned before i cast fire I i use sharpcast. If fire I crit i replace the first fire IV with firestarter in case the planets allign and both decide to crit

Hi, I'm seeking advice.... My raid team are currently still doing AS1 and i'm wondering if you can give me any blm tips for this fight. and give me some advice on my rotation.
Currently my opener is LL>T2>SC>F1>RS/POT/F3 proc>F4x2>F1>F4x2>proc if available>B3>T2>B4.
Followed by my rotation of F4x2>F1>F4x2>B3>B4.

As BLM on first adds to achieve maximum dps on boss, I am casting double flair to kill adds. Any advice on this?

My parse is roughly 1200 on faust and 900 overall dps on Opressor. I am il190.

Any info you can help me with would be greatly appreciated at i wanna do everything i can to help my group clear this fight.

I'd suggest checking out the Guide in this thread; you could squeeze out more F4s in your opener with Convert.

Of course this means that you won't have Convert for overkilling the first adds like crazy, but that's not necessary. In my group I bane the adds as SCH; one add is invariably stuck in a resin pool dropped by the melee, so they can breathe on it to finish killing it, and the OT and I drop the one that goes for me.

Sorry if this is a repeat question (and stupid), how much dps should blm's be parsing at to comfortably clear Faust in savage alex? I've attempted a1s twice in pf. 1st time was a struggle but managed to clear faust. 2nd group we wiped on faust every time around 6-10%. With the second group luckily someone was running a parser. Through the several attempts my parse ranged from 1170-1250. Being ilvl191 and having a bard playing foes, I tend to feel my numbers are really low. I was using xpots and switched between hq black truffle and hq sohm all tarts (never went above 1200 on sohm all tarts oddly). I use aikaals 6x fire 4 opener with xpot+raging strikes. Enochian never falls off. The only area of improvement I can see is my thundercloud management. Ive seen a lot of different things here on the forums and am still confused as to when it is a dps increase over fire 4. Pretty frustrated that I have no way of parseing myself on ps4. All I have is the fact I ripped enmity from the tank about 4 times (made me think my dps must be up there) but when the parse numbers come out im mid-bottom.

That's fine for Faust, of course you could do better but it's not likely your DPS is the cause of the wipes. Pretty much every DPS except for maybe NIN will have their DPS padded by AOE hitting the adds, so you should always check incoming damage on Faust to see who is really behind. Generally what you see a BLM doing against faust will be their single target numbers since there is no reason for us to AOE at all.

Also, in the parse for that fight, you need to cut out AOE. Select Faust on the parse, all incoming, then sort by combatant.

For Faust 1000+ minimum is/should be required from every dps class tbh.
And i agree there i very much wish PS4 had an add on for parses :(

Remember the potency per second changes based on how much spellspeed you have and if you have Ley Lines up, as 2.5 second castspellspells scale differently with those compared to 3.0 second cast times.

If it's one or the other, go for Firestarter. More PPS, more mobility, shorter rotation so more consistent Enochian refresh if there were or would be an interrupt. As you said it's mainly a rotation 2 thing, rotation 3 you can always (if you weren't interrupted somewhere) get it off after Enochian drops off, rotation 1 is just super long if it's not the opener.
