Bump stands for Bring Up My Post. None of these threads are my posts, and the intent is to jump off of and showcase the discussions started years ago. To show off opinions people used to have as well as the kinds of players who used to be in this playerbase.
There's also no merit in clogging the forum with anymore threads since there are nearly 3200 pages(each with 20 threads so close to 64000 threads). If you still feel I'm in violation of the rules, feel free to report me, but I won't be stopping just because you think I should do it a different way.
Also, if I were merely bumping posts for the hell of it, why wouldn't I just BUMP everything? /shrug
Its only nice on the surface but once you get in a little deep (which isnt very hard) youll soon find the FFXIV community being just as toxic as any other MMORPG.
They used to be very good at masking it but lately that curtain has been gradually raising up and showing whats really going on behind the scenes.
It's as nice, , and as toxic as any other community, really - Toxicity just takes on different forms depending on the game, or the nature of the game. Plus, it depends on the crowds of folk you're with as to the experience you get.
I agree with you. It's better to bump than create new. Keep on it my friend!
I'll never understand some peoples aversion to bumping or necroing as they may wanna call it. It reminds me of the late 90's to early 00's when everyone had their own personal fourms and with asinine rules about what and how to communicate.
That's the funny thing, it's the best mostly because everyone else is worse lol
But speaking seriously, it is overall a decent community, or at least I can count my bad experiences on one hand in the 5 years I've been playing, whereas in WoW, I'd probably regret resubbing within the same evening.
There are actually quite a few threads that are 10 years old that regularly make the front page such as, "Show Me Your Roe" and other such similar threads. The age of a thread only matters when it's with regards to a hyper specific topic like a recent patch or a contest or old seasonal event.
By your own logic, everyone should stop posting in the threads that are 10 years old simply because they contain old posts.
