No real endgame raiding content in 2.1

What gear have people been clearing bahamut with then? My guess would be darklight + relic, since there wasn't anything other than AF2 armor above that in the first 3. There was no crystal tower gear to go do it with. So, the gear to do it was available, just not many went in to do it.

Some people even did a few turns without relics or darklight, just greens from AK and primal weapons, its in the "Winding coils of Bahamut Epeen Discussion" thread. Practice moving out of what needs to be moved out of and keeping up with cooldowns and healing. Even garuda can be done in all af and some crafted weapon if you know what you are supposed to be doing.

Pretty sure Yoshi-P stated Coil is meant to be done with Crystal Tower gear, not darklight. In fact, this is one (not the only, of course) of the reasons why Coil is so hard right now.

I wouldn't know, my highest is only 37. I'm merely through out reasons as to the possibility of why Coil is really hard to beat.

It is a fact, Bahamut's Coil is hard, so hard that only a select few can actually beat it. So apparently Darklight is barely enough. That's why I feel like Crystal Tower is the middle ground, and with that gear most people can stand an "Actual" chance of beating Bahamut's Coil.

And that didn't work out now did it lol.

Going to reactivate a broken record: SE cant balance to save their lives. They shouldn't have had winding coils avaliable in the first place. Now there are people who need not even bother with crystal tower, but for the shits and giggles. Also, people are already able to have relic+2 and AF2, ilvl90, still better than what crystal tower can supposedly offer, all without walking into Winding coils. I'll probably have all my AF2 by the time crystal tower comes out, maybe even my relic +2. Then what?

And the blog says "look out for 2.1 this year". Not going to hold my breath lol. Or maybe it will release tomorrow /shrug. Fail progression is just plain fail.

ARR is a fun game when you cleared your content in your other MMORPG.
I don't think the PVE or PVP can be taken very seriously at this point.
If you take it a bit slower or can barley play because of lag it lasts a bit longer though.

But yeah the progression is very weird.
Though what keeps them from having crystal tower 24 extreme mode that drops better than coil?

iLv55/60/70ish gear is all you need to beat Coil up to Turn 5. Nothing in Coil is particularly hard.

People that actually have the time to do weeks upon weeks ( months even) to get 1 AF+2. People that are enjoying the game and not rushing to 50 and doing all the game has to offer "pre-endgame". Getting AF+2 Gear is just about as equal to beating Bahamut's Coil. A lot of people will still need to do Crystal Tower to get the gear, so they don't have to do a long process that is Mythology Tombs.

The ones that got AF+2 on 1 job are probably the same people who actually stood a chance against Bahamut. ( Again, this is speculation)

+1 on this quote, I feel like there are some things people aren't understanding, most people can't even beat Bahamut's Coil. Crystal Tower will be needed one way or another:

1) Looks of the gear
2) People that aren't 50 yet and need awesome gear
3) Even the people that can't beat Bahamut's Coil with the Darklight Armor even with probably need to tap Crystal Tower in some way.
4) Isn't there some story going to be in Crystal Tower as well?

I fundamentally disagree with nearly everyone on this thread. End game may not be perfect but it does exist and is easily better than swtor was. People even doubt that 2.1 will even come out this year despite every indication that it absolutely will. Yoshi-p had made many promises and so far has completely met those promises. The complete lack of faith from this community is disturbing.

Let's add to the fact that I'd you look at the recently released level distribution most people are no where near 50. This problem so many of you want to complain about only exists for a very very small portion of the overall community.

It is not possible to release a game with as much endgame content as you demand. Endgame vanilla WoW was pitiful... yet 10 years later everyone is using it as a shining example. They forget it took 10 years to get there.

MMOs require patience. You can't build a world in a day. Theres as much end content as there has ever been in an mmo launch... and if you demand more you should just quit mmos because you'll never get that much so fast.

Well, I'll add in my extra cents after raidingreading through this topic. First I thought that it may be really that bad, but in reality I am probably getting 50 tomorrow or today after 3 weeks. Yes, it is a bit fast in my opinion compared to other games were maxing it could take months if not years, but well I am nowhere near having all my classes on 50, let alone 30. But I think there will be enough endgame for normal players like me, though I can agree on some of the issues.

I have played another F2P-P2W (too bad p2w insight came a bit late, no money of me wasted, but some definately wasted) MMORPG, and I tell you this: Content in that game lasted very long. You know why? The dropchance was so abmissaly low that it was not even fun anymore, so let me draw a sketch here:

Old game I played: Low dropchance, Raids were worth it for a very long time, No fun at all when you see the loot. I mean take any raid here and then do it 50 times and be lucky you get anything remotely to what you want. Only later I observed that the game was like that to drive people into buying the P2W gears from cash shop.
FFXIV:ARR: High dropchance, Raids are not worth it for that* long, BUT a lot of fun whenever you see the loot dropping, (relatively) a lot of the times you see actually gear that is better as your current gear.
*The not being worth it that long is relative, I am not observing that issue personally, but just based on opinions of people in this topic, and I can agree on their arguments, once you are in full Allagan gear, you have no need to do Bahamut Coil for purely own-gear-incentive anymore.

Which of the two is better? I honestly think FFXIV:ARR, as long as they are adding content, everything is fine.

Now to the 'problem' some people have stated, there are at least two solutions:
1) Add more content, this is most likely not going to be viable for reasons such as maximum output of developers, variety, developer cost.
2) Have some mechanism in place such that people will keep on raiding the same dungeons. I think this idea could be feasible, but only if worked out into the perfect detail. Consider for example Bahamut's Coil (I know it's an extreme example), it has 100% dropchance on Allagan currently. Make it such that there is a low chance on Allagan+1, ilv95 for example. Then at some point when the hardcore raiders are in Allagan+1, you want to make it more open to public (increasing the droprates), and you want to add incentive to the hardcore raiders, so you will add Allagan+2, ilv100. It might be feasible, but don't quote me on that, I would not add until there are hours of research put into this. What you do need to remember is that this should be done automatically and is not part of the content updates, just making raids feasible until new content is there.
