Why do casual players seem entitled to cosmetic items added in game?

There's lots of items in this game that I want but chose not to engage with the content for. I love the PVP glamours but I hate the content. You don't see tons of people complaining that it should be available for everyone, people just accept it as such. PVP is a perfect example because the Cloud hair exists.

I think the problem for me is that it feels fairly arbitrary to put a hairstyle behind such niche content.

Like, if the new hairstyle was like ‘Cloud of Darkness Nappy Ass Weave’ or something I wouldn’t be bothered by it at all. Obviously that would make sense to come from this content featuring Cloud of Darkness lol.

But having a completely unrelated hairstyle added to the rewards pile? It feels like an arbitrary way to extend the content’s longevity and not an actual reward. Like they didn’t think the ‘proper’ rewards were good enough so they decided ‘hey let’s throw that unreleased hairstyle in to make more people do it!’.

But personally I disagree with using cosmetic things as ‘content bait’ when there’s no logical reason to tie the two things together. Personally I’d argue that kind of stuff should (generally) be the remit of non-battle content like Golden Saucer* since that gives it the most opportunity to be obtained by as many people as possible.

*Gold Saucer has a bit of a monopoly on cosmetic items but just an example lol.

Raiders should be allowed to style all over everyone else.

We've reached peak crazy now that there's one guy in this thread saying in game macros for crafting is cheating.

I mean you can just buy it with gil, it'll drop in price pretty quick given you only need to clear around twice for it.
