Wish we had proper translation when using original voice work. Dragons and Urianger are pretty silly in the English version
I absolutely LOVE that this game uses advanced english, it's not just pretentious, it is great world building and creative direction.
Because SE looked up your records using your payment info and are aware you dropped out of school. They care enough about you to want you to be better in all things though, so they've chosen to challenge and expand your vocabulary by including linguistic forms that are no longer common.
I like that they are different, it's almost like we get double the story, due to the differences that sometimes pop up. There are times it's close and times they diverge a fair bit.
It does make it a little more difficult for people who don't speak Japanese/English/French/German as their first language - that is - if their strongest non-native language is English, then they do need to deal with some unusual turns of phrase.
Uh, most of them can be understood easily from context.
I'm not even a native speaker and even then most of Urianger speech can be understood that way. Even things like Jacke's Thieves Cant can be understood without being English major.
Doesn't take much to understand "bene cove" means "good guy" and so on.
