I agree, interrupts aren't much of an issue (unless things get hectic and you start acting stupid) but they still exist. If you mistime something it can be tough. I think the problem here is with the fact that after taking 1-2 hits you need to be cured, so you need to be on your toes a lot where WAR with the larger HP pool doesn't need to be cured as frequently to be safe. -

Until pld gets 1k more hp a bit more mp and an actually usefull shieldblock for Bosses abilities it will always be sitting on the sidelines. Right now most every boss has a run away or your gonna get thrashed move and that doesnt support a shield wielding tank what-so-ever. Bosses for the most part spam aoe and magical attacks only making a pld the most retarded choice of a tank period. Why cant the developers understand this?!

The extra HP of warrior buys them one extra hit against the huge damage things, that is equiavalent to a couple/few seconds of breathing room, but if everyone is on top of their job it shouldn't be an issue. Taking 3500 from an AoE can one-shot an unprepared pld though, and even a noob warrior will survive it.... idk what that means, just take it for what it is.

This is a nice little trick for triggering Phalanx/Spirit's Within if you have someone else tanking. Pop Aegis Boon, then cover the tank. You'll get the shield block and cure, then you can follow through with your Spirit's combo. -

Keep in mind, Warior was built as a crowd controler (evidance exists in its abilities and trates) , where as PLD was built to tank single mob/boss targets, (again evidance in its actions and traits). Just an Idea on how to keep from gimping war but giving PLD back the overwhealming lead on the 1v1 tank role. our 15 Minute ability is shot, garbage, when Holy Veil dose the same damn thing for a longer duration and with a MUCH shorter cooldown , with some nice bonuses. Replace or Revamp the 15 minute ability , what ever they do , should and the ability to regen 100% of PLDs mp to the 15 minute action. This is my Idea, add longer duration (30 seconds on invunerabilty) buff the ability ( to include invunerable to magic damage aswell) and a bonus or two ( converts damage taken to mp, and or, can be use with another ability to make an AOE buff) just food for thought.

Warior is just a simpler way to tank the same boss, but get a tank who knows how to use his/her pld, I garentee lower damage taken on the parser. besides all this hype didnt start untill jobs came out , SE didnt expect war's abilties to spill over onto pld's turf , thus the reason they are slowly adjusting the jobs. Before the new jobs GLD was the tank of choice, hands down. But to each their own.Quote:

But taking less damage isn't important if a healer (or two) can keep a WAR, or any other tank, alive anyway. It's a novelty at that point, and one that we can afford to give up at the moment because of how WAR is designed. You could argue damage formulas place some role as well.
