Seems like majority of players are playing on a console controller.
It is quite unexpected i would say, i dont think so there is any other mmorpg that is played with controller by majority. :P

Yeah I'm gonna call bullshit on that one.
Nobody's blowing anything out of proportion, you're just being wrong and trying to use that as a defense. It's not too different from the whole "I was just joking, you don't have to be so serious all the time" defense after you've just said something blatantly inflammatory.Quote:
I already have. You can spout it didn't all you wish, but it doesn't change anything. Sorry, it is what it is. There's no evil conspiracy here, you all can rest assured that nothing malevolent is going on here. There isn't a nefarious plot against controllers. You are blowing this way out of proportion.
The only thing you can *probably* tell with most people at a glance is whether they are using standard or legacy controls. Standard has a very "sidesteppy" sort of feel to its controls that is very easy to identify on stuff like youtube videos. If I had to make guesses, legacy is probably the more popular control scheme and that standard is slightly more likely to be used by keyboard players, but those are only guesses.
Lolwut? This isn't MHW where console version literally eats inputs. I don't know what this person is on, but they are clearly new to the game and have heard one to many people blame the controller for their shortcomings and actually believe it. I have raided on PS4 with no problems at all and know a lot of other people who have done so as well, even back when the servers were potatoes and had like 20 minutes delay from what you did to what happened on screen.
I actually play with a dualshock on PC. A keyboard is fine for me until I'm dealing with 30 different buttons to push. The keys all feel alike so the further I have to reach with my fingers in the heat of the moment, the more likely I am to hit the wrong key. The dualshock however feels good when properly configured with the R1 -> R2 / R2 -> R1 setup. The only thing I don't like about it is target swapping on aoe.
FFXIV interface is perfectly balanced for the controller. I would even say it feels better than on KB, but that's the matter of preferences. Some actions take much shorter time than on KB as well (interactions with quests zones for example or giving items to nps are faster on controller).
At the same time I can't say the same about other MMOs that allow you to use controller, because most of them allow it only for battle time, and don't allow interactions with interface, so it becomes controller/KB/mouse playing which is... not very convenient, tbh.
Sounds like you dealt with an idiot, nothing more. The petty part of me might have gone as a PC player but play badly and if quizzed, “I play better on my PS4”
Or play on PS4 and do a reveal at the end when all has gone smoothly, if you did a carry, even better. Reminds me when we lost a DPS in a dungeon, the slot wasn’t getting filled and I said, it’s fine, I can heal DPS. I got a lot of arguments and objections. I did it anyway and it was a smooth run and I said “told you it’d be fine”
