Summoners Overpowered in PvP

I dunno. I'm SMN and I feel like my kills get snatched more than I can actually kill snatch. I saw a DRG jumping on the target I bursted dowm to literally 1% while he sat on his mount. Once the last % was reached he just jumped on my target and got the kill. The worst thing is that this hasn't happened just once.

Much respect to anyone going melee DPS these cause I've almost given up on them simply because of the SMN issue. You simply don't have enough HP/DEF to survive a xxxFlare burst most of the time-short of wearing VIT accessories. I usually just go DRK, PLD or MCH these days. At least with DRK/PLD I have the DEF CDs to survive, and MCH can zone pretty much everyone even SMNs into oblivion and burst them down with the right CDs up.

Its a shame cause I'd love to personally go MNK or DRG, but its simply not feesible a lot of the time when you have sometimes dozens of SMNs and other ranged DPS stacked on healers.

Top kills are mostly melees and myself on top as DRG.

Sounds like you guys play this thing solo >_>. There is a good level of meta game training/mastery that needs to be applied to survive as any class.

I get my kills from cocky and impatient players hungry for high K/D ratios. Now that SMNs have burst damage they are the cockiest, most impatient and wreckless players i see and they are is a gold mine for me on DRG. I see SMNs charging a whole freaking front alone trying to get a kill behind the line, only to be murdered seconds later canceling the benefit of that kill had they gotten it. I love cocky and impatient SMNs. Nomnom!

I can agree that a huge stack is SMN can be annoying :P. Were all those SMNs on the same team ?

Your example is the exception and not the rule as shown above. Sounds like your assuming a lot about peoples PvP situations. No amount of skill is gonna help you when you've been targeted by 1-2 SMNs during a retreat and they nail you in the middle of a pack. There's no real mystery to surviving as a DPS in Seize short of either playing ranged DPS, making sure you have DEF/Zoning CDs, or making sure your camping your present healer at all times plus never separating from the pack.

I'm simply responding to people projecting the idea that melees are always helpless. From my experience, its not the case. A simple change in tactics significatly increased my "up time" on the battlefield and made this "smn op" a non issue for me. I did not claim to never getting rolled by a stack of smns. In my opinion and experience, a lot of people are not following a few golden rules of pvp that would help them do more in pvp and be less annoyed by SMNs.

I'd love to try 6 synchronized DRGs :P

It would be nice if melee didn't have positional requirements in seal rock pvp. Then I might be a little more okay with how many summoners I see all over the place.
