Yup, to use the literal sense of the word 'help' would mean they would help you steal the car.

To use the moral sense of the word 'help', they would do what they could to stop you from attempting it.

I disagree with this statement as Konachibi fails to show motivation to the contrary. Immersion is being incorrectly used. There is an objective way to define immersion. Immersion in and of itself is subjective, and that is what the OP is trying to do. Shed off any preconceived notions of what immersion entails.

Konachibi has been successful in presenting that point, she hasn't been successful in convincing detractors if this point, but how successful do you have to be when you're trying to teach a fish mathematics? Is that something that can be held against someone?

I think this whole post is pointless and I hate chibi for even starting it. She probably has an entire novel of text and replies in this thread. And the RANDOM capitalizing of WORDS is REALLY annoying. I GET that YOU are TRYING to *CONVEY* a POINT but it really is not necessary to do THIS.... ewe sea wut eye dud thur?

Maybe we have to realize that this world is not backed by matter, But backed by information. In a world backed by information you can do anything, So whatever is in the game that immerses you is still part of that information backed world.

You're getting a like, if not for anything else but for taking such an extensive amount of time to write all that and explain the whole thing in such a detail that I could never hope to accomplish XD

Also yes, IMMENSELY informative and yes, does explain the entire topic in it's entirity, I don't think there's anything that could have been added at all. You've totally nailed it.
