WTF WHMs?

If the healer and the rest of the party is not dying, then who cares what the WHM is doing?

Ooh no, they ran low on MP by the end of this mob! How terrible it must be! If only there was some any of waiting 8 seconds for them to recover some.... But that's impossible.

It's not like you are playing Star Ocean and they can die from MP loss.

You guys are really not seeing the core issue.

Holy is absolutely MP inefficient. If it's only 2 mobs, stop using Holy and start using Stone 2. Leave Holy for the real deal

Am I the only WHM who doesn't really love Holy Spamming? I much better spending my time keeping on top of stoneskin and regens / emergency heals. Time Holying is time i'm wasting to me. Let DPS do the damage etc.

With two mobs Holy blows Stone 2 out of the water. The difference in potency per MP is like, 10, as I showed earlier. Remember that since Stone 2 hits only 1 thing, it's still not fantastic.

Along with the immediate MP concerns. Stone 2 hits only 1 target, which is why I said "if it's only 2 mobs". Unlike Holy, which presents immediate MP problem, you administer Stone 2 relatively slowly, allowing the natural MP regen to mitigate the MP usage

If you're spamming Holy to begin with, then you're doing it wrong. Use Holy as an opener or to block an anticipated attack, not for pure damage.

Depends.. there is no good answer to this. We have to look at the actual situation in party. However, it's never wrong. When we talk about holy, we basically talking about good player and not good healer.
Healers suppose to heal and not dps. But, if our dps can help the party in anyway, we should try our best and multi task the job. Holy has 220 potency with cleric stance, 2nd powerful AoE spell next to flare.

When we combine holy spam with presence of mind, we can "momentarily" out dps, dpser class in the game lol. Should we do it?.. it's up to everyone.

I don't mind a few well-placed Holy in a big pull. If the WHM has time to get the first cast out, the mobs almost stop damaging me altogether for several seconds while those stuns hit one after the other. It cancels cone/line/round AoE's which can be a real bear if you have several mobs in the pull that cast them (I'm looking at you, Brayflox HM).

Btw, stun also reset mobs attack pattern.

Not really.

When I play WHM on these dungeons:


1) Single mob (like Dullahan) - Aero, Aero2, Stone 2
2) Two mob - Holy x2, Aero+Aero2 on the other mob not marked by tank for priority, then back to the marked mob, throw either Aero or Stone 2 depending on HP left.
3) Three mob or above - Holy x3, if a large pack, PoM and Holy x4-5 depending on what's up next down the line (MP management - enough idle time to recover MP for next pack/boss?). Throws some Aero/Aero 2 to surviving mobs.

Never had MP concerns. I think I have about 4,6XX MP and usually I hover around 3k plus MP range, and falls to 2,5XX if it is a large pack and I holy-ed more than 3 times, but Shroud of Saints will recover them back to healthy range.

Cast time for Stone II is too long per target. Since mobs dies pretty fast, it is pretty "speed inefficient". For example for a 2 mob pack, with what I do which is opening with 2 holy, I dealt 400 potency of damage in 6 seconds to both mobs which is a total of 800 potency of damage. In contrast, a 2x Stone II on one mob is just 340 potency and it takes 5s cast time total. On two mobs you are taking 10s to deal a total of 680 potency. With the same 10s, you can deal 3 Holy with total 1200 potency, a whooping 76.47% more that what you'd do with Stone II.

So as long as there are more than 1 mob, always go with Holy. Just control the number of times you Holy and pair them with Aero/Aero 2, switch back to Regen healing the tank and casting stoneskin on the tank for every pack of mob. You should never drop below 50% MP unless the team is really derping.
