Yeah there was no point to Vaan in the story after the first 5 hours. I always thought Balthier should have been the main character. I really liked XII though, the graphics, the setting, even the story wasn't too bad imo, it's just that it wasn't as focused on the main characters rather than the bigger scope of things between nations. Also there was no love story, something that has been present in almost all FF titles, which I think put ppl off a bit.

Uh, Vaan gave me a headache...and it did feel empty in the storyline department. The ending made me sad, and not in a good way. Disappointing story, but the gameplay was fine for me.
