It unlikely you level jobs, you bolster them by gaining new skills through quests by the sounds of it.
You would still be levelling as a MRD but the trait would allow you to equip a scythe, the job would serve as specialisation/restriction.
I think many of you are missing the point; I'm not interested in a Black Mage wielding a bow or some such nonsense.
What I would like to see is the ability for jobs to use several weapons (not all of them...) while still keeping the same role in a party.
For instance:
Warrior: 2 handed axe, 2 handed sword, 1 handed axe, 1 handed sword
Dark knight: scythe, 2 handed sword
Ranger: gun, bow, crossbow
White Mage: mace/hammer, wand, staff
Thief: Knives, 1 handed swords
Paladin: 1 handed swords, mace/hammer, 2 handed swords
etc..etc...
I think we should keep Weapons specific to Classes. If Warscyths are implemented it should be its own Weapon Class that eventually unlocks Drk as a Job. but once its unlocked you can then use Drk on Great Axe, Great Sword, War Scyth, etc. I say War Scyth because Scyths are already in game as a harvesting tool.
Ok hell no i don't want that lol why in the hell would you want that? they just said it that you can put action on some type of class within your job system which mean
You most be on Pug to play as monk you most be on CONj to play as White mage
you most use Hand to hand to play as monk you most you STAFF to play as white mage
sorry your idea make no sense the game is base on wep your wep is your job/class
they said that there some action you not allow to put so pretty much say if you put yourself whitemage your not allow to put any GLD spell so if you playing as GLD and have whitemage title you pertty much pointless it just a diff in WEP that make no sense.
sorry but no your idea not to be rude but it's dumb and make no sense with the system they have now.
After my last post I am starting to wonder why we've latched on to this idea of jobs gaining new weapons. I mean I guess it makes sense when we hear the words "job" and specialization. We obviously think traditional roles with traditional weapons.
Really though if they start unlocking unique weapons for jobs doesn't that limit the possibility of new base classes in the future? Perhaps not but it starts creating an environment of over-saturation regarding weapons. All they've said is that jobs will provide more specialized roles and will attain that through unique abilities and skillsets. In fact that's ALL they've said, that they will gain unique skills.
Obviously I could be very, very wrong about all this. However, I think it's a bit presumptuous to think that the new jobs will coincide with new weapons.
Weapon Classes are NOT Jobs and JOBS are not Weapon Classes stop confusing the Two.
Gladiator is only a Sword User. Paladin is a Tank. One is a weapon specialist, one is a playstyle. I shouldn't be forced to play a playstyle on a weapon I don't like. If my playstyle is "DD and Spiritual Healer" Alah Monk, I should be able to perform that playstyle on my prefered weapon (Bo-staff, club what ever.) not limited to fist weapons.
it make sense what else would use a great sword? or Scyth sure there a DOL using a Scyth but that not really really a Scyth for say it look like it but DRK Scyth would be diff. Class system would just be the base and job would be the building it should some what allow to use more wep and it's own type also.
I'm actually ok with the proposed system. I didn't take the time to read all of the QQing in this thread, but I hope they follow their plan instead of listening to the players on this one.
