Hi guys. First post and all that crap.
Is Phleb worth using? Is it better to try and fit in more Full Thrust combo's in a rotation than keep Phlep up?
Sorry if this question has been answered before and thank you in advance.

Phleb is definitely worth using.
Talking of which, where is Ayvar? There's a lot of information that should be in the OP and sadly no one is there to update it... We'll definitely need OP to be updated when the expansion comes. It'll be a shame to have to create a new thread and have all of the information, + the most probably 600+ pages of pure gold buried :(
If someone could find the guy (or some moderator intervene), someone (Dervy) could re-do the OP post with all the new stuff right here and, for the first post of the thread, just put a Link to the new reply, so newcommers just click and skip to the new stuff (and mantaining the legacy for nostalgy). It'll be kinda mess but at least we could have an active member in charge, plus not bury all the gold.
Gold always ends up getting buried, only to be dug up by the bravest of adeventurers.
Contacted SE and unfortunately they cannot pass on thread rights to another user. Sad times. For the expansion then, there definitely will be a new thread then unless Ayvar somehow comes back from the dead.
Time to go sift through 436 pages to find all of the high-quality posts that never made it to OP and archive them. RIP life.
Time to be a Dragon Riding, Au Ra Dragoon.
Thank you based Yoshida.
I think it's better to open the new thread as soon as possible, when you finish to dig all the old posts. With the expansion there will be a lot of new things to discuss and the job will probably change dramatically, so most of the informations here will be outdated. Anyway thank you for the hard work, as usual.
Dragoonsward: (etc etc etc)
I'm bad at titles :(
Would it be a terribly horrible dps loss if I opened with HT-Ph-ID-Dis-CT?
It just feels smoother to me.
It'll be around a 3-5 DPS loss over the recommended rotation.
@ Raid dragoons who raid t11-13
Do you always use the marodeur +dot+ in your rotation or only the <20% strike ?
Fracture is bad, don't use it. Mercy Stroke is just fine though.
Thanks Tilgung ;)
They should've called it Heavenspear! (yuk yuk yuk)

Ascension: Unto the Skies of ishgard
Oooh there's going to be a main Scenario Battle at ishgard. Patch 2.5 part 2. This'll give us some inspiration.

quick question: how much ss would I need to make sure that phleb never falls off ?
At the moment I have 350 ss and it works out fine with HT and CT but Phleb allways falls off for a short moment.I would like to keep it up to make sure no tic is missing.
It doesn't actually matter if it falls off. As long as you're reapplying it within 1-2 seconds, you should hit the in-game tick counter, unless you're unlucky. But if you wanted to know the exact number, it's 407 Skillspeed, without factoring in delays with jumps, latency and keypresses. 420+ to be safe.
thanks. and yes Ive been thinking about bad luck with the 3 sec global tic.
The Idea was to push ss to the max with my 2 crafted pieces and maybe reach the cap to keep phleb up non stop, but 407 is too much.
It also happens alot that I use jump at a bad moment animation lock wise, so 420 would be my goal, which is definately not in reach atm and also not worth it I guess.
It just drives me crazy to see phleb fall off ;)
Well as a DRG, you want to have as less SS as possible so you can focus on Crit/Det so you can get more Deeps, since we have no SS buff like MNK or NIN. IMHO, it's not worth trying to have a SS cap just for Phlebo, you'll end up doing lessthan if you just focused on crit/det. But up to you, hope it works fine for you !
A dragoon reborn!
This is my current gear setup: http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/OVO7
No skill speed at all, but I'm always able to re-apply Phlebotomize the moment it falls off. The DoT would be at 2~3 seconds left when I'm using a weaponskill right before using Phlebotomize. So probably there's something in your rotation that you should tweak a bit?
Just beat T12 for first time this week. How is 470 DPS + LB3 cast?
Depends on strat, if you have NIN, push timings, etc
I'd say it seems slightly higher than it should be unless you're AoEing Blackfires/Bennus somewhat. My group pushes last phase with only one dodge phase (which results in a tidy overall DPS increase for the group, going to guess for your first clear you had two dodge phases) and our DRG only does 460 but he doesn't do any form of AoE, has no NIN, and he's on Phoenix and the large Bennus at all times.
No AoE, I stay on Phoenix the whole time, we handle our own red fires by grabbing our own BLUE and doing it ourselves, I had that twice. We had 5 Bennus, I swap between the large and small Bennus and also I'm one of the fountain soakers. Definitely had 2 dodge phases, I do have a NIN though. I'm i119 with Longinus.
In other news... did 608 DPS on T6 the other day lol. This weeks T10 kill was 500.7 DPS, no food.
I apologize in advance as this has probably been covered multiple times: Something I've been wondering since launch but never got to the bottom of is whether it's better to save cooldowns to be used together or to use them immediately off cooldown. Assuming no mechanics and you're just poking away at your heart's content. Is it a significant DPS difference? I've always been hesitant to use untraited IR on its own for whatever reason.
And while we're at it, IR or B4B first? The OP explains IR first to avoid the risk of B4B falling off before Full Thrust, but those days are long gone with the amount of SS we tend to have now. I got into a strange habit of B4B > x > IR just have them end at the same time. Again, totally unfounded and pure preference. I figure it's worth investigating as our numbers are getting significantly bigger.
ir first has always lined up my bfb a lot better later in the rotation than bfb first
