Except one person. He read them. And said I was implying things unsaid, so attacked me for the things he imagined I implied by not writing out my full thoughts in detail.

Again, attack my post length all you want - I'm the only person actually talking about Zepla's arguments. How should we, as a forum, interpret the fact that there is only one person in this thread actually talking about the topic of the thread, and everyone else refuses to engage with said person on said topic, regardless of length?

Huh? Plenty of people have been discussing the premise of the video. Particularly because many of the points raised by Zepla are, in fact, concerns that they themselves have put forward around these parts for some time now.

Just because they choose not to engage with specific posters that doesn't mean they're ignoring the premise of the thread. Nobody is owed a reply to anything that they choose to post and it could very well be that some individuals have opted to make use of the ignore function. Or the thread is simply moving too quickly for them to do anything but light discussion.

It has been brought up. EW has no long lasting content to keep people engaged. This wasn't Zepla's point but: We have to keep going back to previous expansions to find content. Dawntrail looks to be more of the same of EW.

So, maybe you can answer it. What, in EW (and, looking forward, DT), is long lasting content that will keep players who are current (ie not still progressing through MSQ and unlocking prior expansion content), engaged and logging in on a regular basis. What is there, for veteran players, to be excited about?

Yeah I mean my points of actual discussion are buried like 80 pages deep

To give a TDLR
- I agree with zepla there is currently no incentive to login especially if you are vet with minimal to no backlog
- if you do have a backlog because you are newer chances are said backlog is almost entirely comprised of content from older expansions rather than EW
- EW lacks any form of midcore content and it lacks the optional but not compulsory grinds field content excels at
- the game has become too casual focused attempting to make classes the casual content easier for people who barely interact with the game as it is, no matter how easy you make healers they aren’t going to convince the “I have my mare pair code in my bio” to play them
- deflection to the two common lines “yoshi said to play other games” and “14 is an RPG first MMO second” has become excessively problematic and just an excuse to deflect valid criticism

The phrase "rpg first mmo second" rubs me the wrong way because if it was an rpg first it would have more interesting classes not what we have now and customization all around like in bozja but they didnt decide to expand on that they just removed it from main content after arr and this game hasn't really felt like a decent rpg since then with the exception of activities like eureka and bozja.

My complaint is people insisting THEY want to talk about the OP, but pass up literally every opportunity to do so in favor of berating other posters instead.

And for the curious, that post was super short, unedited, well under the character limit, and all of 4 paragraphs. And short paragraphs, too. Five if you count "I do agree with Sharknado above:" as a paragraph.

What do you guys think my position is? I know you haven't read my posts, so what do you think I feel about EW? I'd wager you're wrong, but I'm curious now.

- I agree mostly. There are things to do if you're looking, but as someone said in Zepla's comments section that she commented on: There's a lot to do, but most of it isn't from EW, it's from prior expansions.
- I mean...yeah, see above; I agree.
- I agree so much I've said this myself in this thread and in other threads here in General. For months. Literally months, possibly over a year now.
- Disagree. And I think Zepla does, too, based on what she said at the end of the video. And this is the problem: EW didn't cater TO ANYONE. It gave the hardcores a couple Ultimates, one good one apparently not, the Savages have been all over, and Criterion/Deep Dungeons with no rewards and little replay value. It gave the midcore even less somehow. It gave casuals basically the same thing it gave midcores.
- Marginal, I neither agree nor disagree; I'm with Zepla that things shouldn't demand you play every day, but there should be more reasons to log in and more to work on. I don't think these are deflections, per se, they just aren't great arguments. What she said about WoW and FFXIV being on the two opposite ends of the scale made sense to me. It needs to be somewhere kind of more in between, or at least part-way towards the middle.
