Now I imagine group A being full of bards and none of them ever sings a Requiem o.O
Research facility last night for lvl 60 roulette (same dungeon every time). Speed run as usual, but the WAR was in deliverance for the first pull. Did not go well. He couldn't keep hate at all, leaving me spamming cure and AOE heals when we all stole hate. There was at least two mobs on each party member. A few unlucky interrupts, and I died, leading to everyone dying. Without killing a single mob.
Tank rage/embarrassed quit, SMN dropped and came back to tank for us. From that point, it was the fastest clear I've had there to date.
You maybe had the same tank I had for 60, although I got Antitower. Also a WAR in deliverance, and very pissy about it.
Party was myself as AST, my boyfriend as BLM, a SMN and this WAR. He (the WAR) started off in deliverance and straight running to the first pack without waiting for us or anything, while I was stll buffing. Normally not a problem for me, I can buff on the run, if he would just let me noct him though, that would have given me time to finish buffing the party. But well, no worries, lets do it. My bf and the SMN are already tanking when I catch up and the tank doesn't switch to defiance. I remain quiet though, no trouble keeping the party ok with shields. Last monster is about 10% left with hp and he runs off already. Not long after the monster dies, tele pops and off he goes. I thought to myself ok this guy is in a bit of a hurry... Finish stoneskinning my remaining pt members with lightspeed (my bf knows my routine and waits, the SMN also waits prolly thankful for the stoneskin) and as we are still jumping through the tele the tank's hp is dropping. We catch up, and upon arriving on the next pack, the casters are tanking again since the WAR is still on deliverance. Also I observe his tp bar is fully drained out but unluckily I don't get tp cards, only speed (yay casters). We kill the pack, of course I don't even dare to cleric, and off he goes again, and we continue like this until the first boss. No ocasion this time to buff or even change to diurnal (normally i quickly shield the tank before boss pull and change to diurnal for the fight) as he pulls inmediatly, I think it was the SMN who wasn't even there yet, can't remember, but one caster was missing. They made it and I heal on noct with tank still on deliverance. As we kill, I then decide to speak up, "Defiance?" At this point seriously if you as tank didn't notice that you might be on the wrong stance when this entire time your party is tanking, no more words or phrasing are needed imo. We're not even level synced for christ's sake.
He then goes (obviously bum hurt) on how the BLM, my bf should stop running when he has hate, and how one is not supposed to flare as tank is pulling. Now I get a little upset. First, my bf didn't dare to flare and he never does it at pull, I mean, why would you? Second, it was actually the SMN who had the most hate, my bf was holding back and didn't even dare to enochian. And nobody was running from anything, the tank just never bothered to even try and get hate back. We continue the friendly conversation mentioning how he should be in tanking stance anyways (that was me and my bf) and how hes not gonna pursue anything, but people have to bring him the mobs when they have hate (that was the WAR). A lot more was said, and I got very angry at his primadonna attitude. To make it short, it was all about how basicly he will not move a finger, we all should do the work for him, tanking stance is not needed at all, he tanked very well the entire dungeon and only lost hate when my bf flared and then ran around and I should stop talking shit. I called him a primadonna, told him we not gonna do his job for him, nobody flared, nobody ran, he wasn't tanking anything since even myself got a few mobs (on noct!!! how can you even get hate on noct???) and nobody should hold back just because he wants to be on dps stance.
Tired with the situation that got me even talking in a very bad manner, I say to bf that I'm gonna kick this guy. I wanted to earlier but since he always ran off and engaged something, I had no chance. Calcabrina was the moment though, he actually waited for us to arrive, and then I initiated. Bloody hells, the guy was gone 2 seconds after. The SMN and I engaged with Titan-egi just for the lols, died, lol'd again and respawned. Asked in LS for help in progress, 2 friends said they would tank it, got one, finished, end.
God I just can't stand tanks with their primadonna "I'm the king, you peasants do as I command, even if I'm wrong" attitude. I don't care if you have fast queues or if you are in demand, you can go grab a cactus if you have this mindset. To me, you are very expendable.
A few chunks of this sounded like my Weeping run, last night - except I was also in Alliance C and half the alliance was my FC... and I don't recognize your character name xD;
We also died to lack of uptop activity - but for us, it was too many people down below, low DPS (.....proven, just in the first few mobs dying weirdly slow... and tanks not holding hate on most of the trash o_o) and not enough people up top to pop orbs.... and assumably not enough to kill the dark orb... thing. That was the first time I've experienced that, so I didn't think much of it other than "gee, I don't see a lot of people up here o_O". A few people down below had survived and were making an attempt to keep it going, but most of the alliances had respawned to the beginning. I stayed behind and was raised, in the next web phase, but there's only so much a skeleton crew of mixed alliances (was maybe 5 of us...) can do when there's most definitely not enough people to kill adds and take orbs, that time x.x wiped.
Four DPS, in one alliance, abandoned ship after that... (I wonder what was being said in there >_> if anything at all).
Second boss... well, an FC mate basically had to scream, in /A, to 'plug the holes!' x.x It was a messy experience. We did a lot of raising. Luckily, she is always chomping at the bit to raise people o_O; (SMN)
Ozma - we wiped after one alliance wiped - so the other wiped and then everything converged onto us... but that's nothing unusual, it seems o_Oa I feel like this exact thing happens more often than not
Speaking of Ozma, I always feel like alliances don't heal their tanks enough. I always end up healing their tanks from my own platform, on top of my own, for most runs >_> (because, for the alliance bars, the tanks sit way too long at 25-40% HP for my comfort... I don't mind helping, but whhyyy... and it's always the alliance to my left x_x never had probs with alliances on my right o_Oa)
And after the first boss, we lost a DPS. Gained a DPS while we were in the stone tablet fight.. they left soon after (I don't think they even got to do anything). Gained a DPS. They left maybe 5 mins later. Rinse and repeat and none of them even doing anything. I guess we already passed the boss drops they wanted. >___>
Finally got a DRG in time for Ozma's second attempt (I believe it was second) that actually stayed for the rest of it... AND was friendly \o/. I got tired of greeting the DPSes just to get silence and then their leaving a few moment later >.>;
I'm used to people queuing in and dropping after x boss in these raids, but that was ridiculous >.>
Speaking of Mhach, there's little about that run that's more irritating than Tanks who, when three enemies/groups appear, only grab one of them.... but grab the one corresponding to your alliance @A@ ;;;;; Get your own, please!
Sorry I missed your /t Malicewolf.... was having a fit of tourette's after a weeping city and stepped away for a few minutes.
Not enough Charmin Ultra for the wipeage I just experienced.
And then you wipe us in a DPS check. Mana Song bards during Nidhogg's add phase while everyone is on healthy mana, perhaps someome under weakness and/or getting hit by that untankable dragon, and here we have our wipe. Thanks dude ._.
Seriously, play that Ballad of yours WHEN NEEDED.
Oh boy. I'm Sahree... that I said anything about the mana song. LOL.
It's people like that where I was we had a cross server blacklist that prevented those people from queueing with you. Not only would they eventually enjoy longer queue times, but would be greeted by their equally toxic peers.
Sadly, this is actually further proof a jump potion won't matter. Those people had to go through the entire story, plus level at least one job all the way to 60, and they didn't once bother to learn how to play properly. Nothing you implement will ever convince them to learn unless the content is so hard, they can't actually do it.
Went to sohr khai yesterday with tank, me as bard, whm healer and a dragoon.
Everything went smooth until the last boss.
Apparently, you can jump to your death at that area and the dragoon did just that.
We all laughed and i play foe for the healer twice and proceed to dps until we at the last stand.
Still, I gave the commendation to the dragoon for being an awesome player :D
Got Hullbreaker HM earlier today with a new healer. Just a bit into the fight with Mistbeard I figured I should point out that Heavy is Esunable. She got a little snippy, "I'm aware. No one has heavy." And sure enough I got targeted and didn't get Esuna'd. But I Found out you can just Ninja Teleport out of the Grenado Shot. And as a side note, I completely forgot I set up a macro to take me to the target. Now that I know this neat trick and coupled with the fact that I want Calamari, I'm probably never going to get Hullbreaker HM in my roulette again.
 I wonder if aetherial manipulation works too. I keep forgetting I have that as BLM.
On topic, I mentor rouletted into Nidhogg in progress, where a bard lamented that they still hadn't been able to clear it. They mentioned some 80 wipes. I'm thinking that's some bad luck there. So the fight starts, and at the first set of aoe, the bard immediately goes down. They get raised, but with the next set they go down again. So then of course with that bard having a double death penalty, we fail the add phase. It ends in an abandon. I felt bad for the bard but at the same time I wasn't that surprised they hadn't been able to clear it yet.
Aetherial manipulate ALL the things!
Weeping city hit enrage at Ozmashade... didn't even know there was an enrage there ...
As an aside, I was healing M4 earlier this week and died because the tanks didn't pick up adds in time. The SCH got me back up, I asked for a manasong and got it, BRD turned it off when I no longer needed it, and all was well.
I kept dying to Doom on the second boss in Weeping City because healers would never cleanse me. Then I realized that Warden's Paean clears it off.
Not sure who the bad player is in that scenario...

I did a daily on my healer and got Halitali. Things are going fine - the tank doesn't take much damage so I can cleric stance almost the whole dungeon. Then the arcanist starts healing the tank... and I think "Awesome, I can DPS even more now." I mean, makes sense; the arcanist tosses out their DoTs and then heals while DoTs are ticking away. Pretty efficient, right? Well, no. They weren't using any DoTs. When I told them it'd be a good idea to apply DoTs before healing or at least leave the healing to me, they told me I wasn't doing my job. They honestly thought I wasn't doing my job as a healer because a few times, the tank's hitpoints got below 50%. I told them that with a single cure I can heal over 50% of the tank's hitpoints, but they were adamant that it should never go below that point. In fact, by the way they were playing they didn't believe it should go below 80%. Sheesh.
That's happened to me on heals and it makes me pretty mad. One time I advised the arcanist to dot all targets and he basically said I couldn't do my job right so why should they take my advice? And don't tell me how to play the game, etc. As soon as combat was over I'd never been so happy to take a 30 min penalty. If they can't appreciate a healer dpsing I wasn't going to bother.
A few days ago I was running EX roulette on an alt, tanking Sohr Kai, with a group of a WHM, BLM, and BRD. I noticed fairly early on that killing even trash mobs was taking a while, and by the second boss about 20 minutes had passed. I had already noticed that the healer was only casting Cure 2 and Medica 2, no damaging spells whatsoever. That seemed a bit odd, but didn't explain the slow progress. Then I noticed it: the BLM's rotation was as follows. Fire 1 spam, Flare, Transpose, Blizzard 1 spam, Fire 1 spam, repeat. That was it, no other skills or abilities. I don't know if it was pure laziness (like the healer, I assume) or ignorance (I hope not at level 60) but I have never seen a BLM do that, even at lower levels. It was just baffling. We cleared in 40 minutes, and the last boss nearly destroyed all of the platforms.
Thank you! I've asked in almost every WC run I've been in if there was a way to avoid the Doom effect, and every single time, I got a one-word response: "Esuna." Seriously, they'd spend several minutes explaining Ozma, but not one person could take the time to say "third add has Mortal Gaze."
When I'm a SMN with Resurrect available, and the healer releases right after they get KO'd during a boss fight, giving me no chance to bring them back up.
-.-
