Seems fine. I'd use baked pipira over black truffle risotto at that point though.

Hi monks.
I thought you'd appreciate that I'm working on Monk weights. I have the model up and running (was easy, as 3.0 monk hardly changed from 2.0), and it looks like Monk and Dragoon weights are extremely similar. The only difference is that Monks scale SS at 0.112.
WD: 10.730
AP: 1.000
DET: 0.139
CRT: 0.161
SS: 0.112
Now, you have to take into consideration that Monks DO NOT scale Strength similarly to the Dragoon, so do take these weights as a massive grain as salt. These weights are calculated measuring the impact of 1 Strength vs X Secondary and as the Monk scales Strength less than a Dragoon, the final weights will be different. I'm using my Dragoon model just to check for inconsistencies and see the impact the Rotation has on the Monk.
On top of this, my Auto-Attack model was created specifically for the Dragoon. I never normalised AA_DMG with the AA_Delay, so the model only works with weapons with a delay of 2.8 (which are Dragoons Weapons).
So yes, whilst those are the range of weights we'll be looking at, the final weights will be vastly different from what they will really end up being.
The crit gain from the pipira is higher than the black truffles det + crit added together with Savage gear, and thanks for working on the stat weights for Monk Dervy. At least it's something to consider for now. Really interested to see the end result.
The foods are a little weird now in 3.0 for MNK, because we don't have that straight up perfect food as Truffle for example in 2.X...
Truffle only have 11 Crit and 17 Det, making it a total of 28 Secondary stats, and even though Pipira have a lot of Accuracy on it, it also have 37 Crit... So, 9 more secondary stats, and Crit is the best stat right now on top of that.
Even the new food Morel Salad have slightly less or same weight as the Pipira (depends on how the final weights are).
Really appreciate it !
How big of a difference do you think the final weights could have though? like, is it huge difference, or just some fine tuning?
Won't be a big difference. DET may weigh a bit more, but please do take it with a grain of salt until I've got a damage formula for Monks working.
If people don't want to wait for me to level a Monk to 60 (which will be a very long time), you could speed up the process and collect data for me.
I was actually about to get with you on this. You were gone, and I was swamped with work, but now that you're back and I'm not totally entrenched with work I can do some testing for you. I also keep almost all the monk gear I ever get since it's all I play. I have quite the collection now.
Anyway, I'll get with you later on to find out what you need.
So I guess we will just have alot of ACC this tier that will go to waste :(
That or drop the Eso bracelet for the 1AS bracelet, but I dont think its worth the 30 Crit drop for 29 Det and 44 SS just to stay under the acc cap ...... or is it?
You could try this Miru: http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/R6ZI
The only difference is just 1 accs from yours to this one. Also, the 630 acc is for frontal A3, flank being 615 ish according to another, and I doubt we'll need frontal acc as much in A4.
Thanks for doing the weight tests for the Monk Community. We all greatly appreciate the information from all the hard work you guys do. Please let us know when you guys have confirmed the Acc cap for AS4 and confirmed end monk weight stats. Thanks again.
Yea I started looking at the acc requirements more and realized we will prob need 630 max in A4S since we need that in A3S just for front. So yea your set seems a lot more valuable. I mean we lose some Crit but gaining Det isnt so bad I guess.
Maybe OP can add this to the guide so players have a idea of what path to take with gear.
Don't forget you will need the frontal acc cap for the adds in a4s. ;D
Anyways I see a lot of people complaining about monk dps
I got mine to 60 a couple of days ago (I told you guys it would be late!) and after a bit of practice I've been getting a pretty consistent 1.1k at 4:00ish at ilevel 164.
1200+ is possible I'm almost certain at i180. 1300 maybe at i195 or so. I can't wait to be able to try it in raid, it's gonna be fun with its new skill cap ;^)

Dismiss dat chocobo. Are you really only 164? Your health seems wayyyyyy higher than it should be even with companion buff.
Yep. Was using Black Truffle. i170 left side with i190 weapon and belt. nothing over i148 on the right. I even have a i130 ring lol.
1200 is easily possible at i180.
Here's a nearly 7 minute parse of him going HAM with his i200 weapon. I think he was i190 when he did this. Party buff, I'll ask him on Monday if he was using food/pots. Chances are he was. Yes, there was a SCH. No, Fey whatever it was wasn't being used. Yes, we fed him TP with MCH. No I never fed him Battle Litany.

Blurred out names cause don't want a witch hunt or w/e
I don't know how he does it either, he just does. Here's a breakdown
http://puu.sh/jt2bU/f9afb91a7a.png
No buffs at i190 with i200 weapon I'm hitting 1250 pretty easily, and buffed up getting 1300+ isn't very hard.
Yup. Monks are still very strong and I've never understood the complaints from other Monks about being low DPS. Dragoons and Monks are neck & neck.
Anyone else going for shoes+something else next week? I have the weapon, but my accuracy for frontal adds in places like A1S is too low(571). Food is too expensive.
EDIT: Ignore the above, the acc gain won't be much going from alexander gear...
fml
totally solo, no food no pots no party buff im usually doing around 1270, give or take, on a dummy when i hit tp floor with i200 wep, granted i have 2x i210 accessories placing me at i193.
as much as i'de like to say otherwise, i have to agree with dervy here, dragoon and monk are prety much neck and neck in terms of dps. at least before we factor in raid dps contributions (disembowel, battle littany)
Could say drg is on the offensive side of raid utility while mnk is on the defensive side. Was trying to tell people before that my drg and my static's mnk go back and forth in dps, all things considered. Though we do sometimes wonder if one of us should switch to nin.
Edit: I could, since I have it 60, but we've already put a lot of time into our mnk&drg already with items... etc.
Updated and put Dervy's initial stat weights for monk and accuracy cap.
PS.
Sorry its taken this long to update the guide. RL stuff got in the way. My current static is also missing people so haven't gotten the chance to really get into savage apart from a few times with pugs. If anyone wants to add anything new in regards to tips and tricks in savage please post it and I will include it in the guide. But by the looks of it, its not much different from normal apart from of course having extra more mechanics added from the old ones.
Hmm, I must be doing something wrong. I switched to MNK from NIN, partially due to Mudra-bullshit-lag, partially because I was overall sick of it. I'm ilvl 188 (have the i200 wep) and I do a steady 1200 WITH food/pot/party buff (chocobo) on dummy.
I wasn't using fracture, because I'm not sure WHEN to use it. Makes me feel like shit considering there are videos and parses of MNK's doing similar DPS with like ilvl ~180-184. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Give us some more details and we can help narrow down where you're falling short.
I'll figure ut the 1200 + once i have the gear, the only thing holding me back from it is that pretty much.
Honestly in my video a did a single fracture and its not that great anymore. Not worth losing its slot, but it not as amazing at it used to be.
Well, I'm using this: https://i.imgur.com/6XMaU17.png as a reference. That opener, not using fracture at all. Using all CD's and oGCD's when available (after opener). I'm starting to wonder if I'm maybe refreshing Demo/ToD wrong. They never fall off, I always try to refresh them in between 1-3 seconds left. Sometimes I do refresh Demo at 4-5. Could be too much skill-speed, but after two Snap Punches it feels like I have too much time before I'd "need" to refresh it (if that makes sense).
If all else fails I'll fraps myself and upload it.
This is when you Fracture assuming you have not used ToD during the set of DK/TwS buffs. Once you get really comfortable you can tell when Demo is going to have that extra time so you can fit it in where ever to ensure you don't interfere with ToD, DK, TwS and allow them to fall off. Just remember DK/TwS will last for 7 GCDs so if you refresh ToD during that time you will not Fracture and your Demo shouldn't end up at 4-5 seconds during that either typically.
Also make sure you're using Shoulder Tackle on cooldown unless you need to save it for mobility (that flow chart only references it in the opener). It makes up roughly 2% of you damage if used every time it comes up.
Edit - Are you using controller or keyboard/mouse? How much damage is your auto attacks making up total?
I tried messing with Fracture earlier...with 600 SS, my TP went dry before 3 minutes even with Invigorate. Stupid law/alex gear.
Some dummy parses I found:
1200@i179 https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...1200_dps_i179/
1224@i183:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ox1gAvLtqBA
And the guy also has a screenshot of a higher parse(1324@i186 with party buff, morel salad HQ, and HQ drac pot), I assume it's with i200 weapon.
so looking good I say :)
I recently swapped to Monk from WHM so I've been heavily reading the monk threads here for advice.
We finally went into A1S (Faust only, didn't clear him) the other night and I think I did 1150-1200 dps at i190. Looking at these numbers, I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm not using STR pots because I currently can't afford them, and I was using Black Truffle Risotto, then switched to Lava Toad Legs once I noticed a single miss at 575 Accuracy. Oh, our party makeup was: Monk, Dragoon, Summoner, Machinist, WHM, AST (I think I was getting the Arrow/Balance cards, but they may have been Expanded ones), Paladin, DRK.
After reading this thread, I've been trying to work Fracture into my rotation since I wasn't before and it's seeming to be more difficult than it should be. I understand it's just DK-TF-SP-BS-TS-Dem-ToD, then repeat and replace ToD with Fracture (as well as using Snap Punch 2 of every 3 Coeurl stances), but sometimes I miss one rotation of the dots. And I pop cooldowns every chance they're up. To avoid animation lock, I just use one oGCD per weapon skill. Is that correct? I saved my chakra stacks for Purification since I'm burning through TP on Faust.
Any other tricks I might try to use to pick my dps up a little more?

since everyone seems to be curious about where you should be in terms of dps, i did a few tests and got one of my more avg crit rates, if anything its on the low side, regardless you can see it for yourself.
for reference, that with x-pot and black truffle (yes, im cheap) and party buff.
