The dengeki article (http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/001/056/1056760/) states something different: エーテルフロー消費アクションを実行することで蓄積される“バハムートエーテル”。 or: Consuming Aetherflow stacks Bahamut Aether up to 3.
Followed by: Once you have 3 stacks, you can invoke Bahamut-Trans which increases damage done (other japanese interview says for 15 seconds), and you get access to new big damage actions.

That seems to jive with what's being said by the guy who is doing the stream. Seems you use aetherflow, burn your stacks which gives your bahamut aether. This lets you enter trance and you can do these abilities. the guy doing the twitch stream was present at France and got to be with the Q&A team and was there for the live demonstrations and such.

Sounds like we'll be "stack dancing" instead of stance dancing. I imagine going from Aetherflow stacks to Bahamut trance stacks and back being reminiscent of the DRG priority based rotation.

first its not a pet, no health bar. its more akin to shadow flare, and flaming arrows. second how often do you think an aoe turret will be used outside of speed runs and regening mp. its the same case as with pets, the one doing more damage will be more used then those with situational uses

Exactly. Machinist turrets seem to be similar to WoW shaman totems if you could compare it to anything. The only difference being is that instead of having a ton of different ones, they can just change the current function of the couple that they have.

If dread stacks require all 3 AF stacks then rip fester and bane, it wouldn't make sense if it did s:

You need to consume your 3 AF stacks to gain 3 Bahamut Aether stacks (1 AF used = 1 BA gained) which you can use to cast Dreadwyrm Trance.
