The pressure to skip cut-scenes!

I had a guildie watch his cutscene for first time after being warned by tank to not watch or he will leave, the tank left and the healer because they were friends. Bad form. I know it's a game but must you act like little kids? Free company is the empire on coerul, avoid at all costs if those are the type of members they allow in. I would never do that and I'm the healer so good luck finding another group if you leave.

Yeah, sorry but I'm not going to be pressured to skip FFXIV's story. That's one of the best parts about this game, and I want to experience it when it's relevant.
After I've seen it I'll be skipping it too, but I'm not going to give anyone flak if they want to watch it.

Get a premade if your expectations for speed runs is that high or get use to it only a week into a game with new ppl barely reaching end game content.

I got yelled at today for watching the cut scene.

I'm playing on my PS3 while I wait for Square to correct my Account service 2 to 1.

PS3 takes awhile to load, apparently.

After I was done with my cutscence, I see in chat,

"That Stupid @W#$#@$@#$#@ is still watching the cut scense???!! FSR#E@#KCIN LOSER. WASTING OUR TIME. I'M GOING TO BLACKLIST THIS STUPID BASTARD AND EMBARASS HIM ON THE FORUM. SMH"

In one of my groups a couple nights ago, one of the tanks announced that everyone needs to skip cutscenes. Someone in the group said they wanted to watch them because it was their first time, and the tank left the group. Then half the group left after him, and we had to wait 10 + minutes more for the duty finder to re-queue the group back to full.

In another group, the tanks kept starting bosses before everyone was finished viewing cut scenes, and people got cut off from the fights.

In another group, they cursed out the healer for watching a cut scene, because the tank started early and the group wiped because 1 of the healers wasn't healing.

All and all, it's a terrible situation, and it needs to be addressed. I don't know what the solution is though. Not much you can do about human nature. Perhaps in future expansions the cut scenes for Duty Finder content should be a little shorter though. Leave the long cut scenes for the end of the instance, or for solo play.

Please do not enable people to ruin the fun of the game by supporting people who cannot watch the scenes in the Inn room. People work on tight schedules, some cannot watch the cutscenes while progressing to get the fights done in a timely manner. If you watch the full cutscene your being rude while in a fight. You can watch your character in a cutscene in your in room while not detracting from others players play time. If you want to watch cutscenes during a fight I reccommend joing a FC/LS that has times to fight such events while watching the cs. The best for both worlds is for everyone to watch the cutscenes in the inn room. It does not hinder you or the other players play time.

I watch the cutscene, why?

1. Because I'm a *** apparently.
2. Because I'm normally a healer so if you don't like it, tough.
3. Complain? Good luck surviving Brayflox with a healer who won't heal you when you are poisoned.
4. Huh, maybe I am a ***.
5. And finally, it's Final Fantasy. It's about the story idiots :V

No, but your tank can leave the group and cause you to have to re-queue. Also, the people in your group can say horrible mean things to you if you don't skip them. People can be really cruel over this.

It's a good thing most of the time I do story related dungeons with friends. The duty finder in general is a choice I try to avoid if I can. The fairness on both sides of the equation balance out to zero, I think. People are right to think either way, and so I say do what you want. Complain if you think it gets you anywhere and watch your cutscenes if you love them!

lol, I noticed that the other day. I mean im not high level or anything so no whiny ADD babies have shown up yet but I skipped the intro to Tam-Tara, and noticed it said who was still watching the scene. I remember thinking, "ooo thats not going to go well later on." Coming from SWTOR, I know first hand how annoying those grunting monkeys are. I skipped the cut-scenes myself after the 5th time but never gave anyone a hard time about it. Luckily I was the tank back then (before the group finder even) and could shut em up. Those scenes are there to be seen by players and even if you do get grouped with some dude that has some crazy OCD and just HAS to see it every ... single ... time ... he has every right to do so.

These scenes arent even long at all compared to SWTOR and the longest (by far) on that game was about 15 minutes total (Black Talon, Empire side). Yes, I timed it myself.
