Nitpicking, but you cannot not belong to a race :)

Thanks for the clarification...I hadn't seen the opening movie in some time and forgot about all that cool cutsecnery. Also, now that 14 is over (for now) it makes me think, "Holy crap, THAT'S what Mor Dhona used to look like?" Also....whats with the monsters coming out of the ship/dragon...hmm.
If you watch, the Primals do not appear until the Agrias and Midgarsormr collide into the lake. The Crystal Tower is under the lake, my theory is the explosion released them. For clarification the 'battle' of Silvertear Falls was 10 years before our time in Eorzea.
Yeah I remember that part of the storyline...but hmm that's interesting. If the primals were trapped in the tower beforehand, were they contacting their representatives (Amal'jaa, etc.) during their confinement...? Hmm, so much new stuff to think about.
I don't think the twelve were even summoned, I think it was just sealing magic to re-imprison bahamut/shinryu in Dalamud. The beast had gained too much power for the seal to complete.
I think it's more that our prayers weren't strong enough to save us. It looked more like a spell than the gods themselves. Or maybe we should have done the beastmen thing and collected crystals.
Then again if it was a full manifestation of the Gods' power, that's like failing to catch a Pokemon with the Master Ball.
The City States and Beastmen tribes use to meet and trade, the Beastmen would trade Crystals. But once the Primals "appeared" (the Sylphs tell us) they begin to hoard them and use them to summon the Primals into existence. So you can assume before the incident and maybe even after for a while, the Beastment were not in contact with the Primals.
