I wouldn't mind. I REALLY wouldn't mind. But I'd be out of luck if if the scene's mostly for US people. I could make a character on the US servers but I'd have to start from scratch |D
EU is just... yeah, that's all I see in EU.

To be fair, for an RP only character all you really gotta do is unlock as far as you wish your character to be able to access. For the most part we stick to Eorzea/SOMETIMES Ishgard. And I'm always down to help people level :P
Give it some thought! No pressure.
Yeah, this has FOR SURE gotten pretty bad. For the periods I have actually got on and visited certain zones, there is an immense amount of spam of this type in the chat. This isn't to even mention the amount of them that are openly advertising ERP and 18+ services, among other things. There has been paragraph upon paragraph at times filling up the chat.
Dude, people are spamming in Ultima Thule now.
It really is getting out of hand these days. Shout has its uses and I'd rather not have to keep switching back and forth. You can't even blacklist for a little peace and quiet because they send another character to advertise the same spot.
It's everywhere, don't worry. Covid brought in the nightclub scene and it's only grown since people realized they can make money off others through it. DJs make money off donations, courts make money off desperate players and club owners make money off their staff. It's now the dominant aspect of the RP scene and probably won't ever go back to how it used to be. People would have to stop going to clubs for it to stabilize at all.
It also really grinds my gears a bit when people who run venues say they do it "for the RP" when literally all they're doing is auctioning off their staff to others and providing a space for people to afk dance while watching a twitch stream. The definition of what RP is now is so distorted it's sad.
That's about all that's left in NA in any openly visual capacity, really. You either get nightclubs, or you get slice-of-life coffee shop/venue stuff. The latter is at least more often than not actual RP, but... for people who enjoy telling actual stories instead of having slice-of-life anime shenanigans, the RP scene in FFXIV has essentially died. You have to dig hard for FCs with actual plotlines going on and actual stories being crafted by DMs and their players. I've found a lot more storytelling RP going on in other MMOs nowadays than I have in FFXIV in a long time.
