Can we get an option to remove tails from tailed races?

Personally the ears hasn't bothered me that much, not as a Miqo'te at least, since cat ears are normally quite soft and can surely be tucked in under most hats and helmets.

However, it would be nice if less gear neglected the ears since they do add a lot of character and uniqueness and are defining features as you say.

RL cats can't exactly tell you how uncomfortable it is to muffle/push their ears with a stupid hat though.

Yes you have a point. But the discussion about the comfort was not really my intention with the picture, it was only meant to picture that the cats ear are flexible.

My cats don't like it when I hold their ears down. They try to get away because it feels uncomfortable. I'd imagine it would be uncomfortable for a miqo'te too if their ears are constantly squished down.

But my point was more aimed towards; the ears doesn't necessarily have to be cut off to fit under a hat since they are soft and can possibly exist under hats. (That's why it personally doesn't bother me all that much if a hat lack ear slots.)

Never claimed that it would be comfortable nor that it was optimal.

The picture were just meant as a joke and to add to the point that cat ears could fit under a hat without being cut off.

I also don't think the hat in that photo would be flat against the cat's head, because it's a human-shaped hat on a non-human-shaped head, whereas some of the Miqo'te hats don't have that excuse. Things like wizard hats would be fine (and actually I think they should have not added ear points to the ones that have them, because they're always misplaced), but tight-fitting things like the baseball cap have no extra room inside.

No, I agree. It's fine for some things.

I mentioned the turbans specifically because there is literally no room for ears there and it looks weird, which they acknowledged in older items. The sunflower hat we got from Moonfaire in ShB comes to mind too, it sits a lot lower than the cat you pictured (also obligatory miqo'te ears are more like horse ears so it's not an apt comparison.) Another case where similar older items are actually better in that regard.

If you look there are probably a half dozen or so new hats that should have ear flaps or let the ears poke through in EW and they didn't do it. ShB is probably worse since it has more items.

If they actually are like horse ears I do understand your concern more. I have always imagined Miqo'te's ears like normal but longer cat ears and mostly soft.

But yeah, it would be nice if SE spend a little time designing the new head gear to include the ears like they did before.

cutting holes in helmets to let your ears out don't really make sense.
Do you not want protection for your ears?
Ear shaped protrusions on your helmet on the other hand.
