I'd have preferred Eureka. Story was amazing, though.
I just wish now with the delay we had at least one upgrade step to grind out
What we've got is fine. I would even somewhat hesitantly say it's good. The timing wasn't great.
It failed to fill in the niche of long term, casual, max level combat content, which many expected it to. It's a double whammy of releasing it before a delay (which I don't blame them for) combined with the... questionable roadmap of contents released since ShB that didn't introduce any such content since launch.
It's basically a free weapon per 2 days with casual roulette running, which most people already did anyways.
I am quite happy with how they handeled the new relic weapon. The story of the new relic quest was pretty well done and I loved the instance content.
1000 poetics might not seem much to players that play regularly or more than an hour a week. But to me even those poetics are quite a grind. Sure, they could have added one or two more steps of "Oh no, we need more items to craft the relic! Go and collect more tomes/items from x dungeon!"... but I am pretty sure even than people would complain. I am glad, however, that we did not get another Eureka (yet). Let's see what the future brings. This was after all only the first step of the relic weapon.
As a diehard romantic I always love seeing more Rowena + Gerolt interaction.
I want to see more of Gangos.
And I still find it hilarious, Gerolt forging... a book.
This is exactly the community right now on EVERYTHING. You have part of the community who didn't like it and part who did. Then when SE does something different for a first-part relic it happens again. Some of the community likes it, some doesn't. SE just can't win no matter how they try to implement things to appease their players. You will always have people who are divided and will complain.
For my part, since ARR, what I'm waiting is a relic with two possible ways. I don't mind the feeling it takes forever to complete. I'm more bothered if there is some kind of wall that block the path. Grinding for an half from time to time is fine to me. But an Ex (or Coil or Savage/Ultimate), if I have to lock three hours, three evening a week, to train and farm Ex... I will just pass, because of the latency I often have especially in prime time.
The description of the fights in the patchnote really make me think we will end with some kind of Eureka where fates are replaced by the sons (and/or the daughters ;p) of BA with some Ex. To slow down other players because of some wipe related to my bad ping doesn't sound to me as a fair behavior for other players and I wouldn't feel satisfied either the clear the content such way.
The Factory or Eden normal are already so-so because of the latency.
Apparently Matsuno is really interested in feedback on the questline would love if could pass on this thread and especially the lore one in the lore section of the forums.
its not eureka so 10/10 though at same time i understand people would have prefered a grind so hopefully next step there is 1.
It is quite lively now, but there were periods when it was died out almost completely. Mainly when new stages were released. I remember I was trying to do Pyros 2 weeks after Hydatos dropped (and still didn't finish it, to be honest), and instances were nearly empty even at peak times. Also tried to help a friend to level in Anemos at about same time, and it didn't go well. Dark days. Hydatos, as far as I know, didn't meet this empty instances phase, but I'm not sure as I wasn't there.
