What? I doubt this will ever happen.
Just because new jobs don't have them doesn't mean classes are gone. I am reminded of this fact every time I'm forced to 1-2 in a baby dungeon.

A basic job always shared the level of its base class and any experience gained while on a job goes towards leveling the base class. When I said Done Away I meant with the statement that SE Issued saying they will no longer add classes to 14 and are slowly breaking down its features like guilds, level requirements and cross role skills
I felt that back when I started with RDM. I failed my first mission like 3 or maybe 4 times because I didn't know what to do. I just had a load of abilities and in that short introduction it gave me no time at all to properly practice my skills and figure it out and left me feeling overwhelmed. Thankfully there was target dummies at the FC garden, the squadron missions I could practice my skills in lower level dungeons like Satasha, and lots of people leveling new jobs in the lower level dungeons so I was able to pick it up eventually.
Jobs are not at all unplayable at low levels. Maybe compared to 70, it seem that way, but there is a lot more to focus on besides just rotation. Just because the abilities are simplified, that doesn't simplify the entire combat experience. There's also positioning, focusing more on timing how to use the skills you do have, party coordination, etc. It's still simpler, but simple gameplay just encourages complex thought.
Clearing Brayflox synced with 2 DPS (no Titan or Physick) is incredibly complicated. Simple rotation? Maybe. Timing, positioning, and aggro management to manage damage taken - incredibly complicated.
That's an unusual example, sure, but you can use the same tricks in 8-playwr standard content. Having the simple rotation just lets you work on it in a simpler environment.
I completely agree. I love how FF has changed and all the improvements that have been made but I miss the sense of community and I sometimes wish things can go back to that. (Although Eureka does kind of resemble the sense of community.) But it was amazing running around all over Eorzea doing fates and side quests to level up.
I also love the idea of leveling up from 1 and learning the class slowly but surely but again the game has changed so much that it doesn’t make sense anymore when you have palace of the dead and Squadrons. That being said SE did an amazing job with how they are introducing the Blue Mage. This is going to be amazing.
Being more into leveling than end game, by doing outdoor stuff rather than dungeons or potd, i would indeed welcome an option to start at level 1 if we want to, while players not into that could start at 50+. You can even give them the option of being max level right off the bat that i wouldn't care. Everyone happy, and thus no need to bash each others about it.
Only 3 jobs left to max out and i am out of leveling. Creating another character is not an option as i am limited to one per server and dont want to redo the MSQ. Redoing old stuff being synched to it miss the point, leveling being into progression of your character and not regression, and fates being way too easy when synched down to them with high level stuff. Looks like i will have to purposely make it slow with BLU and the following levels of Eureka since Shadowbringers release is at least 6 months away.
I'm confused? So, in Shadowbringer we do not go from lvl70 to lvl80? This is an old thread, Shadowbringer was just loosely announced at Fanfest. The emphasis of Fanfest was the Blue Mage and I believe 4.5
At this point we really don't have details about Shadowbringer because that comes out in the Summer of 2019.
Can anyone clarify? I think what happened before the announcement of Shadowbringer there were a lot of rumors swirling, but most of us really weren't on this Forum and honestly most players don't go onto this forum.
Does anyone have any verifiable links or sources.
I'm sorry maybe I'm misunderstanding this whole discussion?
There's certainly an argument here.
They're never going to allow us to keep skills when synced down, so the only solution is to maintain a decent pace of skills as you level. But for expansion jobs this means starting at level 50/60 with almost all your skills already unlocked, and you have no idea how they work.
Forcing you to start at level 1 is certainly not an option, but it would be useful to be able to manually sync down if you wanted.
This just leads to the option of party sync, which we really need for open world content.
Just an option where the party leader can select a level for the party to sync down to, and the addition of being able to make a party of one.
Yeah I can see how you missed the point coming into this thread Late... But here goes.
Just Before shadowbringers was announced I started this thread because I like Everyone else will be expecting new jobs with the expansion To come, but after starting a new job in stormblood I came to realize what i felt was missing from the experience which was leveling them up from 1 and really learning the job, playing in the Overworld , Grinding fates, being under geared, using your chocobo to assist you in areas where the threat of death is very real and so much more. Then They announced Blu mage as a limited job which you would level from 1 which was a double edge sword because some of us who were of the same mind frame got our wish while others who have been waiting for blue mage for 5 years felt they got screwed. We dont know what level the new jobs will start at but if the past patterns are any indication it will probably be 60 capped out at 80. This gives you 20 levels to go through which started the basis of this thread... Some of us prefer/want the OPTION to start new jobs at level 1 while others are saying create another character or level sync which to me isnt the same.
