Uptime is a factor as well.
The idea behind TBN being a loss is that BS will cause you to delay your GCD combos (missing on MP and blood) but if a combo gets interrupted because of a mechanics/boss jump, you lose that benefit.

I would need time to find where I brought it up in the extremely long dark feed back thread. But I provided no math for it.
Should have clarified my question. Put another way, was the goal of the delirium buff just a way to buff Drk's damage or was there something beyond that? say, improving buff timing synergy or something. If it was just a buff to damage then theres a million ways that could be done (like potency changes, darkside buff, etc (those could even be hiding in the patch notes :P ).
Ah changing blood weapon to 30 seconds to line up better with trick attack and increase resource generation. For delirium the idea was meant to to build more resources again and give almost a hyper mode for speed of execution. I remain hopeful for notes. I just find potency increases to be slightly boring. I would honestly love a new mechanic like lowering the cd on buffs based on breaking tbn, or using dark arts lowering the timer on blood weapon or delirium. But I’m not super hopeful we will get such changes.
I actually find that current delirium is a pretty smart way to deliver a DPS buff by increasing our resources (an button press).
There are plently of damage/potency/crit rate buffs already so I really like that this is being delivered in a different way for a change.
So why were the best players in the world not picking WAR then? The people who min/max the most, who know everything about the game the best. Didn't pick war because they were pouting? What a joke.
People like you are so petty. I don't know why people like you assume it has to be that.
It can't be that people don't like how it plays, or the lack of utility, or the lower damage, or any other number of things individually or combined. I could argue the same, that DRK players are only mad because they are at the bottom and not mandatory but it woudn't be true because people are upset about legitimate issues.
Irregardless of anything, people are also quite simply allowed to express their dislike for something. Maybe you aren't the best in the world, with top percentile dps, but if you don't like changes to a class you're allowed to not like them and not have it ONLY be because you're not the best. I didn't like half my gauge disappearing every stance switch, that had nothing to do with not being the best tank and everything to do with making the job unfun to play.
Because before 4.05 (4.06 ? I never remember) War was much more clunky to use, and when the changes were announced, top players had already choosed, leveled up, trained with and geared their picks. You can't make the equivalent of one month of work (maybe less ?) in a few days. Moreover, drk might be better for progress because it delivers consistent damage, it's not built around burst windows that you can blow away because you don't know the fight (at least, I think it was the reason. Correct me if i'm wrong)
And it really depends on what you consider best player in the world. If you consider the top speedrunners, there are really few drks, only pld's and war's. You can see more drk's in o2s and o4s because of magic damage.
