Saying a job does less dps than another because "They don't have DoTs and stat boosts" isn't entirely true. If you're trying to come from another context, then I'm not getting it because my quote was directly responding to what I quoted from you.

It's far too soon to say for sure, but the changes are in the correct direction with at least keeping MCH's design coherent (overheat properly to gain a noticeable damage buff). But my point was literally in reference to your quote; there's no corelation to a job doing less dps than another job because they don't have a dot or self-buff skill.
BRD is still stronger, especially due to the rng nature. You won't see MCH pulling 5K....ever. BRD is basically as strong as MCH except it has RNG that makes it far stronger, plus it will scale even better with crit stat weights. MCH needs more buffing or BRD needs some nerf to its rng and damage.
I've been playing around with both Brd and Mch today. Mch with 320 weapon, Brd 330. I'm using a pretty outdated Mch opener, but it was almost always ahead even by just a little, but usually a moderately notable chunk. I think they're getting into the right ball park of dmg to offset lack of comparable support now.
Also can we keep Mch complaints coherent? I'm tired of the community treating like a meme without even knowing why. Even in 4.05 its dmg could at least match Brd which was something; it was hardly "garbage" just because Brd was more desirable. It reminds me of community attitude to Mnk at the end of HW. It just seems like most people here are more concerned about which direction they wanted to tug the job in based on heat gain / overheat and such as opposed to viability. It's understandable, I prefer the "feel" of 4.0 Mch too, but I feel like general perception of the job being "bad" is from crossing wires of personal play preference complaints. If Mch wasn't so undertuned at the start of HW Brd would've had the same unfairly bloated negativity around it. Well, it arguably did on second thought...
[Edit] Also, people complaining about funneling everything into Wildfire when that's been the case since the job was introduced...because that's how the skill works? And every other self buff - they just don't give one big number at the end? Like...at best pre-SB you did 30s whack a mole with Head Graze and Blank to not think about alongside Wildfire...whoopie? :P
Dear SE, I hate Flamethrower. Please stop forcing me to use it for every OH WF. Its ticks are cancer, it makes me unable to move, doesn't hit from range and it's just plain clunky as hell.
Also, 6gcd Overheat needs to die in a fire. A freaking 260+ potency gamble if you get it or not, based on milliseconds.
GG SE, way to spit in the faces of everyone that loved MCH. 4.0 MCH was a blast to play, and there were few things as fulfilling as a well played wild/mild. Now the job exhibits even fewer complexities or engaging gameplay than RDM. I profoundly regret spending any tomes on gearing this job. The dps is probably better, but now MCH is a dead fish floating in the water. 0/10. Having toyed with the changes for a bit, I can say without doubt that the part I loved, Heat management, is nothing.
GG no RE, just delete CD, we'll never use it outside of WF now.
This class gets more and more convoluted. And we barely get any reward for the work too.
OH being 20% buff for 10sec on paper sounds good. But then when you consider the down time of heat ramping with FT (you're either doing no or little damage here) and the 10sec lockout that they just REFUSE to remove people worked OH being a 4% dps gain on average. Whoopdy do. Also using FT as mentioned above is a terrible skill to begin with. And having to use FT to OH when you're supposed to be a ranged dps and you're trying to fit between melee dps on fights like V4S but also trying not to nuke people with fire 3 is just retarted. This class is F'ed in the A and SE needs to ACTUALLY SPEND TIME fixing this trash heap or just stop waisting everyone's time.
REALLY tired of re-learning my opener and WF window every patch and getting minimal rewards for my effort. Stop doing these Band-Aid fixes that get us nowhere and actually make an effort to fix this bloody class.
Just switched to bard after this patch. Playing a class that actually makes sense, and comes with a world of more support is awesome.
