Accumlative achievements are weak. Basically based on a players playtime, the more playtime the more achievements gained by that player.
Would rather see stuff based on a players skill such as something like:
Solo any level 50 faction leve
Defeat any SH boss with no more than 4 members in your party
Defeat Ifrit with a party where at least 1 of each DoW and 1 of each DoM class is present within the party
Things like this seem better and adds more to the game. Even though it would be easy to cheat these examples above stuff like this trumps achievements like kill 100k enemies and finish 10 leves.
yes.. I need to know this.. I got achievement for kill 100,000 enemies since the time when I level my all R50 DoW, now I don't want to do all that process again without exp.
I don't mind cumulative achievements but I'd also like a whole slew of skill based ones like you mentioned. This is where an achievement system can really shine. Like Alise said, she leveled up all her classes to 50 and in the process got 100,000 kills. She shouldn't need to do that all over again. And that achievement only rewards you for doing something you were going to do in the first place. It should be about how you go about doing something.
But by that logic all of the mobs around Lv40 and 50 camps should have their levels dropped, too. A low level would be hard pressed to get to Broken Water without incurring the wrath of the mob of Gnats and Diremites that stand in their way.
The Aetheryte achievements seem more like something that you would be expected to complete throughout your experience of leveling. Unless of course you know a high level player that's willing to drop all of their anima on you to port you to all of the camps.
What about achievements that are no longer available because of the achievement revisions? Do those who took all the time to earn them still get to keep them, or are they removed entirely?
We know that SE assured us about content and achievements experienced before 2.0 would be kept for the players who earned them, even after 2.0 despite the fact other players can never earn them. This description seems to be entirely valid for my question above, and I just want some sort of confirmation that our previous efforts are not nullified.
Ive been spending the last two weeks trying to get every single guild mark ability so i can get those "history" achievements ... People stop trying to speculate since its pointless...everytime i've tried to do something pre-emptive as far as trying to "beat the patch" ive been burned. Just let the game be and eventually (hopefully) it will balance out. I am pretty sure though i'd probably give up if there were achievements that werent retroactive or removed (physical level 50) (any class rank). Oh well I can always remake my character and have my ls pl my character back to the way it was...should only take about two weeks?
