Innovation = Useless dumb looking hopping..

I was fine with the game, you will never be. So who's happier and didn't expect too much?
I'm really looking forward to the most of the changes and content, but why should they change the whole game style oO jumping does not fit. It even doesn't if they redesign all areas. But it seems like everybody want that jump sh1t, so I don't want to stay a rock in this thread.

Thank you, but I don't like DQ that much.. I'm not the biggest fan of the Enix-part in Square Enix.
I'll just wait until jump is implemented..it's too early to say how bad it is.
I just want this game to be Final Fantasy, thats all.

I seriously doubt the jumping in this game will look anything like WoW's. WoW has absolutely no sense of proper scale. The size of characters when compared to...well, anything...is completely unrealistic. I highly doubt we will have a jump where the characters jump more than their own height (with the exception of maybe Lalafell).

If they give a sense of scale and weight to the characters when they jump, it won't look so unrealistic. In fact, if they make the start up and landing animations a little bit longer, it won't look like bunny hopping as it will have a natural delay.

You should really stop assuming things about people. SE is changing the game because they need it to be financially viable. It takes money to maintain an mmo. The game you enjoy and didn't assume too much on will not be a game for long if it doesn't stay afloat come PS3 launch.

Care to elaborate? There's no need to spam the jump button relentlessly, so I don't see how adding jump fatigue could be anything but a good idea unless your idea of a good time is griefing other players.

(EDIT: To be honest, I haven't felt the need to jump at all in this game since the environment pathing updates.)

I would like the same thing, but only so that we can get more stylized jumps. It would be nice if in certain areas, like cliff walls, or rugged terrain there would be these jump nodes that would allow you to jump at greater heights and distances to traverse the area.

We could have Miq'otes doing backflips, Lalafels doing somersaults, and Rogedyns doing heavy leaps. It would add some real style to the game.

But I don't think it has to be exclusive to this. After all this style requires the developers to program quests, and dungeons, and areas in the world to support this.
How man times have you came upon a cliff and said if only I could jump this! Sure the loosened collision detection on terrain. But we just slide up the side, nothing cool like jumping!

So it would take awhile to implement this correctly. So allowing you to jump anywhere in the game is a simpler solution.

Bunny hopping is fun every once in awhile, but there doesn't need to be arbitrary rules just to prevent it. How is somebody jumping around really truely affecting you?

Sure when they release this your worse nightmares will come true for the first 3-4 months. lol once the WOW (unintentional pun, really it was!) factor wears off. Ppl won't do it so much.

I'd also like to see climbing like in EQ2. but thats another thread ;)

Omg.. I hope it'll be much lower then the character's size.. Realistic is good..

so why are we complaining about jump again? it only adds something positive to the gem, nothing negative about it. "wat bonny jomp", come on now, i dont see you guys complaining about spamming emotions. you are just being ridickulous and childish. go back to bed already.

"jump fatigue", just look at how dumb it sounds. how about "laugh fatigue", too much laughing will tire your lunges and you are unable to run.

this is preposterous.
