Is anyone else really disappointed with the nerfs coming in 2.2?

I'm not too concerned about it, though the only thing I'd have done with Pharos Sirius is reduce the absurd width of Siren's dash.

The reasoning for the nerfs isnt because no one is bad but its due to the lack of players playing the older content, thus making it harder for someone new to catch up to where you are at right now. There is also the lack of willpower to try in this game, because more times than less I get people quitting after the first wipe or maybe second wipe and not wanting to try. There are also top tier players who think they are too good to help a player below their ilvl and thats due because people don't want the possibility of failure that a someone like that could bring. Than the number one reason is that there isnt enough Tanks to go around and most of the Good Tanks are under the belt of a premade party system and don't really need to use DF unless they need tomes for another class. hmm, you claim the stuff to be not-hard yet as you can see lots of people have difficulty with it. So i dont really understand why you are so against stuff that you can already pass easily. You are not affected in this in ANY way shape or form. In fact, it may go to say that you will be able to sell runs or help FC members finally accomplish it. For the hardcore it doesnt negatively affect them in any way. It helps EVERYONE if you really look at it from every viewpoint.

And the timing of the nerfs seems to be a big issue for you. SE is being VERY smart by doing it this way. it keeps hardcores happy with the new content which you will have cleared by the time most casuals get to the point that you are at now and casuals now get a chance to start making attempts to beat the challenges you already find oh so easy. If you do it the 1 year later way A LOT of people leave the game and pursue other games while waiting for the eventual nerf. Which would you prefer, $1000 right up front handed to you, or $2000 given to you over a couple months. You can see how obvious it is for them to do it the way they are. Its smart business planning and customer satisfaction. things that are hardest to do for any MMO.

Someone else getting T5 loot on an easier difficulty does not effect me at all. In fact, it makes farming gear with aesthetic value even more of a breeze.

But you know, we had to reform our raid group when we started progression on T5. With the amount of time we were putting in, we were not able to make enough progress and when we did it would be two steps forward and three steps back. I want all the people we can get in on raiding, it makes putting a group together and recruiting easier.

There is no point developing content where only 5-10% of the playerbase can try it. Not that many has cleared turn 5.

FFXI had to hold on their content for so long because they werent able to develop content at this pace. lolffxi.

It's this simple: If nerfs are not made as new content releases, new players will NEVER be able to catch up with everyone else.

That is pure fact without even taking into account the significantly less amount of people doing the content the newer people need to do.

So, as with any other MMO known to man, old content is made easier and rewards are handed out more readily to help newer players catch up to everyone else. They'll still be behind you, just not so far that it is impossible for them to even get to play the new content while it is new.

to OP, prepare for casual players rants and nerfs for zodiac weapon quest in future patch.

For Hardcore players PoV it's a good patch and maybe something really worth it because Yoshi said it need really long process but it will be one day process in the future for casual players. Everything is going to be very easy if you have patience.

The amount of time content has been out is irrelevant: once there's new, higher tier content, anything previous to it is old. Right along with that, once there's new, higher tier gear, any previous equipment is old and not important to the end game. The game revolves around its endgame, that's the focal point. When a new endgame is created, previous iterations are just like leveling.

Nor can you say what is difficult for other players, much less 'too' difficult. Some players, likely not an insignificant portion of the population, are not great gamers. Regular 4-man dungeons can give them trouble and get them killed, we've all run with them. No insult to them, they're not stupid or anything, people just have different skill sets, and gaming isn't theirs. Telling them to 'get better' or saying SE should just push them to try harder isn't going to change anything for them.

That doesn't mean they enjoy it any less, or that they don't spend time gaming. And there's no reason they shouldn't.

SE (and practically every other MMO company) make sure that 'everyone' can proceed through OLD content.

They've also given you the chance to relive old content by making the Echo buff removable. What's there to not like? It's like they're letting you do TWO kinds of runs now instead of one, hard mode and a bit easier than hard mode. Unless your concern is about "I've worked hard for this, you have to work just as hard or it's not fair for me."

Putting in a somewhat unrelated analogy, but, imagine the person who created the internet wanted you to think as hard as him to make internet available to yourself. Would that be fair? But he'd worked hard for you and nowadays people have to pay what, 100 dollars a month for internet? Goddammit I used to work night and day thinking about how the internet could come to be in the first place, you have to do the same or it's not fair for me!! Unfortunately the world doesn't work that way..
