sleep isnt a big issue several things can break it out. so not a huge deal also put pressure on the BLM
PVP is really fun. It's very basic though but that doesn't make it any less fun. I would say only BLM's need to be looked at because I think they are getting the shaft.
Due to players outnumber devs by thousands if not more, PvP rarely works as envisioned, hence you get the 'every game's PvP sucks' which is somewhat true. However, most game's PvP starts out sounding plausible. Usually if a dev explains their PvP system you can at least say, 'sounds like it could work even though I'm sure someone will break it'. In FF14, just trying to tell people you can sleep someone for 30 seconds should set off a red alarm. Just because PvP tends to be broken (due to players figuring it out) doesn't mean you just skip straight to the broken part.
Only got a chance to play 5 or so matches at lunch, but I had fun.
Really got me back into playing the game more. I love the PvP and the ranking system, this is the grind that I have been looking for.
I fit in 30+ matches before work today, I can't wait to come home and keep on farming it.
"Sleep is horseshit and I have no uptime because of sprint."
-Every melee.
"NO SLEEP IS FAIR AND BALANCED AND YOU HAVE ABILITIES YOU JUST HAVE TO LOSE A LOT TO EVENTUALLY GET THEM WHILE I STOMP YOU HARDER."
-Every BLM.
get some pvp gear before you even try to complain...
Think FFXI Summoner.
You are supposed to play PvP until endgame and collect all the skills and bonuses. Then your disadvantage of being slept and such is removed. Just like perpetuation.
It makes total sense. Or at least as much as SE keeping perpetuation for a decade even when every single Summoner told them to remove it. (But hey, they added items with -perp and it would be terrible to fix game mechanics and end up with items being useless. Better to stick with broken mechanics and useful items.)
